Fires in the Valley 2022-10-05@8:58pm-- Shelton and Derby CT-- A fully involved fire on Caroline Street, multi-family home in Derby As that was going on there was a rollover car fire accident on Route 8 northbound between exits 13 and 12. Fire photographer Sayje Benjamin is on his was as I cover this area. Radio reports say Route 8 is a parking lot and a fire truck was involved in an accident on exit 12.

#Fairfield CT-- On 08/07/2022, the Fairfield Police Department received a report from an emergencyveterinary clinic that they were caring for a feline that appeared to be suffering frominjuries, which were deemed suspicious. The initial investigation determined that the cat was covered in a liquid, later found to bebleach, had several signs of physical injury, and neurological trauma subsequently dyingas a result of these injuries. The Fairfield Police Department’s Detective Bureau working in collaboration with FairfieldPolice Animal Control Officers, conducted an in depth and lengthy investigation. Followinga necropsy, veterinarians determined that the cat died as a result of blunt force trauma.After a review of all evidence, investigators concluded that the person responsible for thedeath of this cat was Fairfield resident, Raymond…
Trumbull Mall Fire 2022-10-04@7:00PMish--#Trubmull CT-- #ctfire-- Firefighters were busy with two incidents going at the same time. Firefighters were called to the Westfield Trumbull Mall at 5065 Main Street for plants on fire in front of the Apple Store. Firefighters were also called to a kitchen fire on Lillian Drive (video posted separately).

Eric Levine, Deputy Chief at Trumbull Volunteer Fire told me that between the homeowner's actions along with the fire department close by they were able to keep a kitchen fire confined to the kitchen.
