Bridgeport News: Person Shot

Police UPDATE: On July 3, 2022, at approximately 11:50 pm the Bridgeport Police Emergency Operation Center received a call from a residence within the 1300 block of Stratford Avenue reporting shots fired with at least one round coming through the window. Police responded to the area and determined multiple shooters fired more than (25) rounds along Stratford Avenue close to its intersection with Union Avenue. One projectile was recovered from an interior bedroom wall of a residence located on Stratford Avenue.

On July 4, 2022 at approximately 12:10 am Bridgeport Hospital reported a victim walked into their Emergency Room (ER) suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg. The victim, identified as a 27-year-old Waterbury man, is reported to have been shot while operating a scooter along Stratford Avenue just before midnight. The victim is listed in stable condition.

The Bridgeport Police Department Detective Bureau has responded and taken charge of the investigation. Interviews were conducted and several items of evidence were collected along Stratford Avenue. Detectives are working several leads at this time.

Police UPDATE: On Sunday July 23, 2022, at approximately 10:33 p.m., Norwalk Combined Dispatch receiveda 9-1-1 call that a man was standing on the ledge on the outside of the fenced area of the East Avenue Bridge over I-95. Multiple officers rushed to the scene. The first officer on scenewas able to grab the man’s shirt through the fence while a second officer spoke to the man, trying to keep him calm. As more officers arrived to the scene, they began to gain access to the man over the tall fence by standing on police cruisers, lifting each other up, and even standing on each other’s shoulders. The man was successfully pulled to safety, despite struggling against officers.

Shelton News Two Separate Motorcycle Incidents

Route 8 UPDATE: The accident was near exit 12 and the highway will be shutdown for an extended period of time according to radio reports.

2022-07-03@3:20pm– Report of a motorcycle accident on Biltmore Road, the motorcycle on the operator and he is unable to free himself. Another incident of a crash on Route 8 northbound between exits 11 and 12.
