Fire Department UPDATE: At approx. 10:17 PM, The Stratford Fire Dept. was dispatched to 2037 BroadbridgeAve for a reported structure fire with 4 adults, 3 children, 1 dog and 2 cats insidethe home. All occupants were able to evacuate the home safely. Engine 1, 2, 3, 4,Tac5, Truck 1, responded with a total of 22 Firefighters, One shift Commander, andtwo safety officers. On arrival, heavy fire was pushing out the upstairs bedroomwindow. The fire was under control in approximately 20 minutes with no reportedinjuries to the occupants or fire personnel. Mutual aid was provided by Bridgeportand Milford Fire Departments for station coverage.The structure is not habitable at this time. HARTFORD, CT) – Governor Ned Lamont today announced that Connecticut has become the first state in the nation to require all high schools in the state offer courses on African-American, Black, Puerto Rican, and Latino studies. Fairfield News: Fire At Holy Family School

2020-12-09@4:40pm--#Fairfield CT-- Firefighters were called to Holy Family School located at 140 Edison Road. The school is no longer in use as a school but is used mainly for offices. Firefighters isolated the smoke on the second floor and have secured the electricity that powers a bathroom fan and an electrical ballast that may have caused the smoke condition. Assistant Fire Chief George Gomola said they were concerned because the pastor of the church ran in and got some smoke inhalation but said he will be fine, the pastor was more upset about his school Gomola said. ATTORNEY GENERAL TONG ANNOUNCES $86.3 MILLION SETTLEMENT WITH MORTGAGE SERVICER NATIONSTAR

Hartford, CT) -- Attorney General William Tong joined with 50 other attorneys general and other federal and state agencies today announcing an $86.3 million settlement with Nationstar Mortgage.  Nationstar is the country’s fourth-largest mortgage servicer. The consent judgment resolves allegations that Nationstar, which does business as “Mr. Cooper,” violated consumer protection laws during its servicing of mortgage loans. The settlement provides restitution for a variety of harms that were identified in the investigation.
