Bridgeport News: Murder Suspect Back In Town

#Bridgeport CT--On October 22, 2020 Detective Heanue secured a warrant for the arrest of Corey Ramos, charging him with the murder of Jennifer Brelsford. Ramos was being held in northern Vermont by the Vermont State Police as a fugitive from justice after he fled Connecticut and illegally crossed the border into Canada. Ramos waived extradition back to Connecticut after a hearing in Vermont, and on October 23, 2020, Detectives Heanue and Roscoe traveled to Vermont to transport Ramos back to Bridgeport. Ramos was served with an arrest warrant charging him with murder. He is being held at the Bridgeport Police Department over the weekend and will be presented for arraignment on Monday. STRATFORD, CT - Two Stratford EMS Paramedicswere recognized in a beautiful ceremony put on by St. Vincents Medical Center (Hartford Hospital) as part of their Annual EMS Values Awards. Full-Time Paramedics Dane Dorta and Michael Battistelli were honored with the St. Vincent's Medical Center's "EMS Values Award - recognizing those who go above and beyond". The awards are given to EMS workers for exhibiting St Vincent's EMS core values of integrity, compassion, accountability, respect, and empathy while providing patient-focused and selfless service. 2020-10-23@12:30pm-- #Bridgeport CT-- Bridgeport Police received a shotspotter activation of 23 auto/high capacity rounds being shot on Bunnel Street near Connecticut Avenue. A person was hit by the gunfire at a house across the way and ran to Oasis Market a block further down. According to police, the ""Personal was transported to the hospital". No word on the extent of injuries. A number of parked cars were also hit.

2020--10-22@8:30PMish-- A carjacking occurred on Yale Street near Freemont Street. The suspects were described as a young male and a female accomplice. A firearm was displayed. What is remarkable is that this is the first reported carjacking in Bridgeport since they took the Bridgeport Police radio access away from the media. I wrote to Scott (what a great guy) Appleby two days ago asking why there have been no reported robberies, street robberies, armed robberies or carjacking’s.
