Westport News: Basement Fire

Westport firefighters were dispatched to a report of a fire in a residence on Morningside Lane. The initial dispatch was four Engines, one Truck company, and the shift commander. A mutual aid Ladder company was added en route for the Rapid Intervention Team (RIT).   Westport Engine 5 arrived 1 st and reported smoke showing from the residence. Engine 5 stretched a 1 3/4” attack line to the rear of the house and located a fire in the basement. Truck 1’s crew assisted with locating and confining the fire to the basement while performing a primary search of the basement and coordinated ventilation to limit smoke and fire damage. Norwalk News: Stolen Cars

#Norwalk CT--On September 3, 2020 at 11:44 PM, an Officer who was patrolling the area of EastNorwalk noticed a vehicle traveling with neither headlights nor taillights illuminated. The Officer followed the vehicle and a short time later, the three occupants bailed while the vehicle was still in motion. The vehicle came to a stop when it rolled into a chain. Officers flooded the area in an attempt to locate the occupants. They were not located. Since Friday, August 28, 2020 (a week ago), there have been eight motor vehicles stolen from a different residents within the City of Norwalk. Stratford News: Woman Shot

Officers from the Stratford Police Department responded to 90 Birch Drive to investigate a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, one female gunshot victim was located. She was transported to the hospital for treatment and is in stable condition. Several witnesses were spoken to at the scene and the investigation is ongoing at this time. This was an isolated incident and there is no threat to the general public.  The suspect is an unknown male last seen wearing all dark clothing. Bridgeport News: Shooting

2020-09-03@6:00pm--Many of you contacted us about a shooting on William Street on Thursday.  Police said the Bridgeport Police responded to a ShotSpotter activation for the area of Arctic and William St. Upon arrival police were able to recover several shell casings and subsequently reports of vehicles struck by gunfire. In addition, a vehicle was impounded by Police that was involved in a motor vehicle on-scene. No reports of injuries had occurred. This is still an active investigation. The Bridgeport Police Department needs our community’s assistance in ensuring we bring any one responsible for this to justice.
