Bridgeport Police UPDATE: On August 28, 2020, at 2321 hours, a Shotspotter activation was received in the area of 725 Beechwood Avenue. A short time later, a gunshot victim arrived at St. Vincent’s Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the chest. After extensive efforts by medical staff to save the victim's life, he succumbed to his injuries at midnight. The victim is identified as George John, 25 of Shelton, CT. According to witnesses, John was shot on Beechwood Avenue and then transported by private vehicle to the hospital. Detectives processed a scene at the shooting location and are actively investigating the homicide of John. #Fairfield CT--A citizen who saw the picture on the town alert located the missing man at John Winthrop Elementary School, 85 Eckart St, Bridgeport. He called the authorities and stayed with the man until first responders arrived. Fairfield Police Deputy Chief Smith told me the missing man was dehydrated but otherwise in good shape. The chief wanted to thank all the surrounding towns who assisted in the search. A bloodhound as well as Eagle One helicopter to search the Lake Mohegan area. Trumbull Police and Firefighters search the area of the Trumbull Mall where he was seen around noon time. #Fairfield CT--During the early morning hours of August 26, 2020, Fairfield Police were alerted to several motor vehicles that were broken into in the Lake Hills section of town. Police received reports from 8 separate complainants in the Lake Hills area reporting their vehicles were entered overnight and their personal belongings were stolen. In one of the incidents, a victim on Papurah Road had his wallet stolen from his vehicle, as well as packages stolen from his front porch. That complainant provided investigators with Ring Door Bell video that depicts 2 males running up to the front door of his home where packages were left outside overnight. This occurred at 4:30am. Norwalk Fire responded to a house fire at 9 Marlin Drive. The fire started in the second-floor bedroom after a candle fell off the table. The one occupant evacuated with no injuries. There was fire damage to the bedroom and hallway and smoke damage to the rest of the house. The fire is still under investigation and the home is unfit for occupancy, displacing one man.
