Bridgeport police responded to the 200 block of St. Stephens Road at approximately 5:57 p.m. after a ShotSpotter activation reported eight rounds fired. Police said one person self-transported to a local hospital with a gunshot wound. The victim’s condition is unknown at this time. The Bridgeport Police Department is investigating. Firefighters arrived to a fire on Sedgewick Ave in Stratford. Upon arrival they had to combat heavy smoke conditions and fire to rescue several people and pets that were trapped. The extent of injuries is not known at this time.
A state police pursuit ends in a crash at the 1700 block of Main Street in Bridgeport. The fleeing party crashed into a pole, where he then crashed into another car, and struck the building, and was then tased and arrested by police. There are no further updates at this time.
Police UPDATE: The Stratford Police Department responded to an address on Claudia Drive on a report of aperson in a mental health crisis at approximately 1113 hours.Access to the immediate area has been restricted and the Special Response Team is on scene.There is no threat to the public at this time. Further details will be made available whenpossible. People in Stratford near the intersection of Success Avenue and Stonybrook Road are being asked to stay inside their homes while police investigate an incident in the area. Officials said there is no threat to the community at large at this time. More information will be provided as it becomes available.
Report of a fire at the old Harding High School building on Central Ave. Firefighters discovered a fire in the gym of the building. The fire was contained to the inside of the gym, and has been knocked down at this time.

Report of a fire on the roof of the Barnes & Noble on Post Road East in Westport. Firefighters arrived on scene to a fire on the roof with HVAC workers working on the scene. The fire spread down the siding and they're currently working to put out the fire.
Report of a chicken coop fire on the 100 block of Alpine Street in Bridgeport. Firefighters arrived on scene and quickly put out the fire, which at that point extended to the garage. No report on if there are any injuries, either person or chicken.
