Mayor Finch Announces Creation of Mayor’s Youth Council

High School students can submit applications for consideration  BRIDGEPORT, CT (December 10, 2013) — Mayor Bill Finch today announced that he is accepting applications for the 2014-2015 Mayor’s Youth Council. The new initiative provides youth a chance to learn about and participate in local government while serving in an advisory capacity to the Mayor on youth issues. The Youth Council will be comprised of 10 high school students from across Bridgeport Public Schools and Vocational programs. City Woman, Police Department Host Toy Drive for City Children

#Bridgeport, CT – Dec. 9, 2013) -- Cecalie Cooper just wanted to help during the holiday season. “I wanted to make a difference in a child’s life this holiday season,” said Cooper, 25, a recent college graduate and daughter of Councilwoman Eneida Martinez-Walker. “It’s easy to caught up in the holidays and forget that there are children in our community who might not get presents. “I wanted to try to do something about it.” Cooper partnered with the Bridgeport Police Department in the effort.
