Former Trumbull Teacher Charged With Risk of Injury to a Child

A former Madison Middle School teacher was arrested on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, and charged with Risk of Injury to a Child, after investigation found that he had exchanged inappropriate text messages with a 13-year-old male student. Ryan LaSella, age 34, of Milford, CT, turned himself in at the Trumbull Police Department when he was notified of an active warrant for his arrest. The arrest resulted from an investigation that began in March of 2026, when the Trumbull Police School Resource Officer was notified of the complaint by Trumbull School administrators. Bridgeport Man Charged With Murder After Laurel Avenue Stabbing

Bridgeport Police arrested a 44-year-old man early Monday morning after he fatally stabbed one family member and injured two other relatives during an incident at a residence on Laurel Avenue. Jahmar Whittingham was taken into custody shortly after officers arrived at the 960 block of Laurel Avenue at approximately 5:00 a.m. They encountered Whittingham in front of the house holding a large kitchen knife. He dropped the knife when ordered but then told officers they would have to shoot him. Whittingham refused to comply with further commands. Officers tased him, but he pulled the prongs from his body. The Stratford Police Department is warning residents about a bank impersonation scam that has recently targeted local residents and caused substantial financial losses. Scammers contact victims while posing as representatives from their bank. They often use spoofed phone numbers that appear to be legitimate bank numbers and may have personal information, account details or knowledge of recent transactions, making the call seem legitimate. The scammer creates a sense of urgency by claiming your account has been compromised, involved in fraud or linked to criminal activity. They then instruct victims to withdraw money from their accounts and send it through wire transfers, cash apps, cryptocurrency, gift cards or other methods. Norwalk Man Arrested in Street Robbery Investigation

The Norwalk Police Detective Bureau has arrested a Norwalk man in connection with a robbery reported on May 19, 2026, near the intersection of Woodward Avenue and Larsen Street. According to police, patrol officers responded to the area at approximately 8:57 p.m. after a victim reported that an individual grabbed him and removed a wallet from his pants pocket. The wallet reportedly contained $300 in cash. The suspect fled before officers arrived. Detectives took over the investigation, interviewing witnesses and reviewing surveillance footage. Motor Vehicle Accident On Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at approximately 10:09 p.m., Norwalk Combined Dispatch received multiple reports of a pedestrian struck by a motor vehicle in the area of 169 Main Street. Officers from the Norwalk Police Department, along with personnel from the Norwalk Fire Department and Norwalk Hospital EMS, were immediately dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, first responders located a 34-year-old male suffering from serious injuries in the roadway. Emergency medical care was provided on scene before the victim was transported by ambulance to Norwalk Hospital for further treatment. Residential Burglary with Threats of Explosion On May 22, 2026, Patrol Officers responded to 150 Glover Avenue following a report of a residential burglary. The resident reported that a male had entered her apartment through a sliding door and announced, “Inspection.” The resident, awakened by the sound of the door being forced open, discovered the man in her kitchen removing knives from her knife block. The suspect stole six knives, made threatening statements about the building “blowing up” and “everyone dying,” and fled the apartment. Officers quickly located the suspect outside the building. Jordan Miron Arrest Warrant Execution On May 12, 2026, a now 20-year-old female reported to the Stratford Police Department that she was the victim of sexual assault when she was a student while attending Stratford High School. A Detective Bureau investigation conducted over the last six days resulted with the arrest today of a former Stratford High School wrestling coach. Jordan Miron, age 36, is charged with Sexual Assault 2nd degree (actor is a coach). He was issued a May 19, 2026 court date and is being held in lieu of a $150,000.00 court set bond. Norwalk Police Serve Domestic Arrest Warrant On Tuesday, May 5, 2026, Norwalk Police Officers arrested Diedrich Hohn, who was wanted on a family violence arrest warrant. Officers also served Search Warrants at Hohn’s residence and his two vehicles. This investigation began on April 25, 2026, after the victim reported ongoing harassment and threats from Hohn. A restraining order was in place prohibiting Hohn from contacting the victim in any manner. During the execution of the Search Warrant at Hohn’s residence, officers located five glass vials containing unquantified amounts of liquid labeled Nandrolone Decanoate. William Davis, 49, was charged with Manslaughter in the Second Degree and Assault of an Elderly Person in the Second Degree in the death of Kevin McKinnon, 61, of Fayetteville, North Carolina, on September 10, 2025.
