The 1600 block of Madison ave had a commercial property burglarized last night at around 7PM, and at 8AM this morning the 1 block of Pequonnock street had a residential burglary. Police are investigating.

Bridgeport Police told us that ShotSpotter activation reported 20 rounds fired on Benham Avenue near Norman Street Saturday night. The victim was taken to a local hospital, and their condition is unknown.
At approximately 6:24 p.m., Bridgeport Police responded to the 250 block of Grandview Avenue after a ShotSpotter activation reported 15 rounds fired, immediately followed by a second activation reporting seven rounds. Police said the responsible parties fled the scene and were involved in a motor vehicle crash in the Pembroke and Maple Street area at approximately 6:37 p.m., where they were detained. Police initially reported no injuries; however, in an update, both responsible parties were transported to Bridgeport Hospital, with one suffering a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the leg. The department is investigating further.

A former Madison Middle School teacher was arrested on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, and charged with Risk of Injury to a Child, after investigation found that he had exchanged inappropriate text messages with a 13-year-old male student. Ryan LaSella, age 34, of Milford, CT, turned himself in at the Trumbull Police Department when he was notified of an active warrant for his arrest. The arrest resulted from an investigation that began in March of 2026, when the Trumbull Police School Resource Officer was notified of the complaint by Trumbull School administrators. Bridgeport Police arrested a 44-year-old man early Monday morning after he fatally stabbed one family member and injured two other relatives during an incident at a residence on Laurel Avenue. Jahmar Whittingham was taken into custody shortly after officers arrived at the 960 block of Laurel Avenue at approximately 5:00 a.m. They encountered Whittingham in front of the house holding a large kitchen knife. He dropped the knife when ordered but then told officers they would have to shoot him. Whittingham refused to comply with further commands. Officers tased him, but he pulled the prongs from his body. The Norwalk Police Detective Bureau has arrested a Norwalk man in connection with a robbery reported on May 19, 2026, near the intersection of Woodward Avenue and Larsen Street. According to police, patrol officers responded to the area at approximately 8:57 p.m. after a victim reported that an individual grabbed him and removed a wallet from his pants pocket. The wallet reportedly contained $300 in cash. The suspect fled before officers arrived. Detectives took over the investigation, interviewing witnesses and reviewing surveillance footage.
