Fairfield, CT – On March 2, 2026, at approximately 9:00 PM, Fairfield Police responded to News Express, located at 200 Tunxis Hill Road, for a report of an armed robbery in progress. During the incident, a masked individual entered the store, displayed a handgun, and demanded money from the store employee. The suspect obtained an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing the area on foot. No injuries were reported during the incident and the Fairfield Detective Bureau responded immediately to process the scene. Since that night, the Fairfield Police Detective Bureau has been actively investigating several leads developed in the case. On February 28, 2026, at 12:22 PM, Norwalk Combined Dispatch received a report of a robbery in the area of 81 Winfield Street. The caller reported that during a scheduled meeting to sell clothing, the other individual used force and displayed a handgun. Norwalk Patrol Officers responded to the scene and determined that both the victim and the suspect were juveniles. The investigation revealed that the victim and suspect had arranged the sale of the clothing through Snapchat. When the meeting took place, the suspect attempted to pay with counterfeit currency, which led to an altercation. On February 14, 2026 at about 9:50 P.M. officers of the Ansonia Police Department were investigating a one car accident on Elm Street when another vehicle travelling on Elm Street struck a stopped marked cruiser, which had its emergency lights activated, then fled the scene. Officers located the evading vehicle on East Main St and took the driver, Angel Sosa, into custody, during which time they located 2 loaded handgun magazines on Sosa and a loaded 9mm Sig Sauer handgun in the back seat of the vehicle.
