Norwalk Police Warn Residents Following Increase in Vehicle Thefts

The Norwalk Police Department is urging residents to take simple precautions after seeing an increase in vehicle thefts across the city. Police say many of the recent thefts involved unlocked vehicles or vehicles where key fobs were left inside, making them easy targets for thieves. The department is reminding residents to always lock their vehicles, remove valuables from sight, take key fobs with them whenever they exit a vehicle, and never leave a vehicle running unattended. Police also warn drivers to be especially careful at gas stations and other public locations where thieves often take advantage of distracted motorists. Bridgeport Woman Fatally Stabbed at Park Avenue Rooming House; Homicide Investigation Underway

The Bridgeport Police Department is investigating the death of a woman found stabbed at a Park Avenue rooming house shortly after midnight on Tuesday. Officers were dispatched to the 350 block of Park Avenue around 12:05 am for an altercation involving numerous persons. The victim, 41-year-old Willesha Riddick of Bridgeport, was bleeding and unresponsive at the front door of the house. She was transported by ambulance to St. Vincent's Hospital and pronounced deceased. It was determined Ms. Reddick was stabbed multiple times. A second female suffered a minor stab wound at the house. Man Suffers Neck Laceration in Reported Knife Assault on Bridgeport’s East Side

Bridgeport Police are investigating a reported knife assault that occurred in the area of Donald Court and Eckart Street. At approximately 8:47 a.m., officers responded after a man reported being assaulted by a woman armed with a knife. The victim suffered a non-life-threatening laceration to the neck. No arrests have been made, and the investigation remains ongoing. Police said no additional information is available at this time.

Homicide Investigation Underway on Woodstock Avenue in Stratford

The Stratford Police Department responded to 437 Woodstock Avenue on April 4, 2026, at approximately 1:40 a.m. on a report of a disturbance. Upon arrival, officers determined the disturbance was the result of a homicide. The incident is currently under active investigation by the Detective Bureau. Police have stated this appears to be an isolated incident, and there is no threat to the public at this time. Additional information will be released as the investigation continues.

Teen Arrested After Gunfire Inside Trumbull Mall

The youth was apprehended just after 8:00 a.m. Friday, February 6, 2026, near his home after he ran from detectives who approached him to serve the active arrest warrant. He was charged with Attempted Assault 1st Degree, and Illegal Discharge of a Firearm, Reckless Endangerment 1st Degree, as well as other related crimes.  The boy was one of several teenagers who were involved in a dispute inside the shopping mall on December 26, 2025, and was identified as the shooter following the police investigation.
