Norwalk Officers Rescue Two Men From Cold Waters After Jet Ski Sinks On Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at approximately 5:11 p.m., the Norwalk Police Department received a report of an overturned and sinking jet ski with two individuals in the water near Chimon Island. Marine Unit officers responded to the area and located the two men in the cold water. Both individuals were safely removed from the water and were exhibiting signs of early-stage hypothermia. Officers immediately brought the men into the cabin of the police vessel to warm them while returning to shore. Residential Burglary with Threats of Explosion On May 22, 2026, Patrol Officers responded to 150 Glover Avenue following a report of a residential burglary. The resident reported that a male had entered her apartment through a sliding door and announced, “Inspection.” The resident, awakened by the sound of the door being forced open, discovered the man in her kitchen removing knives from her knife block. The suspect stole six knives, made threatening statements about the building “blowing up” and “everyone dying,” and fled the apartment. Officers quickly located the suspect outside the building. Bridgeport Police Investigate Scooter Crash at North Avenue and Thompson Street

On May 26, 2026, at approximately 4:19 pm, the Bridgeport Emergency Operations Center received several calls for a collision involving a motor vehicle and a motorized scooter. The collision occurred at the intersection of North Avenue and Thompson Street. Bridgeport Police, Bridgeport Firefighters, and American Medical Response were dispatched to the location. Officers arrived on scene and observed Bridgeport Firefighters rendering medical aid to the operator of the motorized scooter.
