#Bridgeport, CT – Aug. 20, 2014 – A Stamford man was arrested Monday night after fleeing police.Christopher Ruffin

Officer Mark Martocchio attempted to pull over a vehicle on North Avenue but the driver sped off. He lost sight of the car but witnesses, as the officer passed, indicated that the motorist had entered Route 8/25 southbound.

Martocchio followed at a distance and called in locations to dispatchers.  The suspect exited Interstate 95 on East Main Street. He later jumped out of the car and ran into an apartment in Marina Village.  Lt. Brett Hyman took him into custody there after the suspect, identified as Christopher Ruffin, 42, of Stamford, threw a flat-screen television at him.

Ruffin faces charges including second-degree burglary, assault on a police officer, interfering with police, criminal mischief, risk of injury to a minor and reckless endangerment, as well as motor vehicle violations. Bond was set at $100,000.
