UPDATE: Police spokesman called and said police are trying to sort the scene out.  They believe he may have been injured by the broken glass.  Residents of Charles Street are commenting that it was a naked man who had a chunk of glass sticking out of his arm.

12:37am–#Bridgeport CT– A man was shot in the 200 block of Charles Street.  Witnesses told me the victim was put into a black Pontiac Grand Prix and taken to nearby St. Vincent’s Hospital.  Radio reports said police found a large amount of blood on the sidewalk.  No shell casings have been recovered.  Police are trying to confirm if it was a shooting.  A large amount of broken glass was seen near the bloodied sidewalk.  Police continue to investigate.

I was not prevented in hearing or reporting on this call in any way.  A previous report from another news source reported that Bridgeport Police are preventing violent news from being reported until after election day.
