Mayor Bill Finch will celebrated and cut the ribbon to reopen the Food World Supermarket at 345 Huntington Turnpike at 11:30 a.m., Friday, Dec. 13. The newly refurbished 17,000-square foot store is a full service grocery featuring a full line of deli products, bakery and an extensive produce section. The store will employ about 60 employees.

“We have worked very hard to improve access to healthy food options for residents in neighborhoods throughout the city, including opening four farmers markets, 20 school gardens, an urban farm on Reservoir Avenue. With the re-opening of Food World, we’re bringing fresh produce and employment opportunities to the people of the Upper East Side neighborhood,” said Mayor Finch. “Congratulations to the ownership on re-opening this store and thank you for investing in the City of Bridgeport.”
