MURPHY TO VISIT HEAD START PROGRAM

HARTFORD—U.S. Senator Chris Murphy (D-Conn.), a member of the U.S. Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee, on Friday will visit the CREC Head Start at the Swift Factory. More than 5,500 children and families are served by Head Start in Connecticut. Murphy will tour the facilities and gather feedback from staff on both the workforce shortage and extremely high demand for care they face. Murphy will discuss the importance of Congress taking action to pass additional funding for childcare in President Biden’s supplemental domestic funding package.

28-year-old Rhameir Marqui Bush of Ansonia CT was taken into custody this morning in Bristol Connecticut for his involvement in the August 22, 2023, triple shooting on Park Avenue, Bridgeport, CT.  He is charged with Assault in the First Degree, Criminal Possession of a Firearm, and Illegal Discharge of a Firearm.  His bond is set at 750 thousand dollars. Bush was served with three additional warrants as follows: Failure to appear in the 1st Degree.  Bond is set at 1 million dollars. Possession of Narcotics. Bond is set at 75 thousand dollars. 120mph on Route 8/25

On 11/26/2023, at approximately 2:00 a.m., Troopers assigned to Troop G in Bridgeport observed a green BMW traveling in excess of 120 MPH on Route 8 southbound in the area of Exit 2 in Bridgeport. This area has a posted speed limit of 55 MPH. When Troopers attempted to initiate a motor vehicle stop the BMW, accelerated and entered onto I-95 southbound, eluding Troopers. Minutes later, another Trooper observed the same vehicle exiting I-95 southbound at Exit 18 in Westport and attempted to initiate a motor vehicle stop. Shelton News: Downtown Robbery

Shelton CT-- On 11/27/2023, Jalen Bolton and Ashan Langston were arrested by the Shelton Police Department in connection with a robbery that took place in downtown Shelton. The charges against them include Robbery 1st Degree, Larceny 3rd Degree, and Conspiracy. Additionally, Jalen Bolton faces a charge of possession of narcotics with intent to sell after crack cocaine was found in his possession. The incident leading to their arrest occurred around 5:30 PM in the Municipal Parking lot at 415 Howe Ave. The police were initially dispatched to a fight at the location, but the individuals involved had fled by the time officers arrived.
