2020-05-02@9:43pm-- #Bridgeport CT--- Police and firefighters received another call of fishermen caught on the breakwater rocks at Seaside Park. Initially they thought there were about 5 people on the rocks, then ten and the numbers kept going up. A total of 28 people had to transport from zodiac (rubber boats used for shallow-water rescue) to the police and fire boats and then shuttled the ferry dock to be evaluated by EMS. First reports said there were a couple of people with hypothermia but all 28 people refused medical treatment and refused transportation back to their vehicles.

Bridgeport News: Water Rescue Or Water Taxi?

2020-05-02@9:34pm--#Bridgeport CT-- Police reported that Two police officers from the harbor unit are responding to a call of 7-10 fishermen stuck on the breakwater inside Bridgeport harbor. Some of the fishermen attempted to wade through the cold water but were unable to make it to shore due to the high tide. The fishermen turned back and remain on the breakwater. Two fire boats are responding as well and AMR.   The initial report said 10 people trapped on the rocks but now it reported to be 16.  EMS reports say some may be suffering from hypothermia.   Police were also called to where the cannons are at Seaside Park due to a large number of fishermen.   This news report…

Bridgeport News: Motorcycle Crash

Police UPDATE: On May 2, 2020 at approximately 7:25 pm the Bridgeport Emergency Operations Center received the report of a Motor Vehicle vs Motorcycle at the intersection of Fairfield Avenue and Lenox Avenue.   The operator of a 1993 Honda CBR600, identified as Terrell McCrae DOB 7/31/1993 of Bridgeport was traveling westbound on Fairfield Avenue, as he approached the intersection of Lenox Avenue a 2003Toyota Camry operated by Serafin Perez-Palma DOB 10/12/1996 of Bridgeport had come out from Lenox Avenue, turning westbound onto Fairfield Avenue and collided with the motorcycle driven by McCrae. The motorcycle then collided with 2 parked vehicles.   Bridgeport Fire Department, AMR, and the Bridgeport Police Crash Investigation Unit responded to the scene.   The operator…

Bridgeport News: Garage Fire

2020-05-02 @ 6:20pm--#Bridgeport CT-- A car caught fire inside a detached garage catching the garage on fire in the 200 block of Wheeler Avenue.  Firefighters were quick to extinguish it before it extended to a nearby home.  Police were called to the scene shortly after the fire was extinguished due to fighting that broke out between two people.
