Stratford News: Garage Fire

Fire Department UPDATE: At approx. 1:47 PM, The Stratford Fire Dept. was dispatched to 45 Mill Pond Circlefor a reported structure fire with one person trapped inside the garage. Engine 1, 2,3, 4, Tac5, Truck 1 responded with a total of 22 Firefighters, One shift Commander,and Safety Officer. On arrival, heavy fire was visible inside the garage extending upthe exterior of the structure. The fire was under control in less than 15 minutes. Onemale suffered substantial burn injuries and was transported to Bridgeport Hospitalby Stratford EMS.The structure is not habitable at this time. Bridgeport News: Suspect In Stand-Off Fired At Police

A New Haven man was in police custody early Saturday morning, following a six-hour standoff with Bridgeport and Trumbull Police. Eddie Lynch, age 24, of Rock Creek Road, New Haven, surrendered to Emergency Services officers at about 1:10 a.m. at thescene on Madison Avenue and Anton Street in Bridgeport, where he had crashed duringa police pursuit with Trumbull officers on Friday evening.Bridgeport Police secured the area immediately surrounding the intersection and werenegotiating with Lynch continuously for several hours to encourage his peacefulsurrender. However, the circumstances were tense, with Lynch firing his gun at theofficers at least once during that time. #Trumbull CT-- A single-car motor vehicle accident involving a pedestrian resulted in the death of aTrumbull woman late Friday afternoon, November 20, just after 5:00 p.m. Thepedestrian, Lisa Cimmino, age 57, of Madison Avenue, Trumbull, was walking on CanoeBrook Road when she was struck by a vehicle, causing serious life-threatening injuries. Trumbull Police received several 911 calls to report that a female had been struck by avehicle in the area of Canoe Brook Road near Madison Avenue. Trumbull Mall Shooter Surrenders After 6 Hour Standoff

#Trumbull CT-- #Bridgeport CT-- Shortly after 7pm Trumbull Police were notified of a robbery and gunshot at the Zales Store in the Westfield Mall on Main Street. A lone male entered the store brandishing a handgun which he used to shatter glass display case. While doing this, the gun apparently discharged one bullet. The man grabbed several gold chains and fled on foot. No one was injured in the incident. Officers spotted the fleeing car at the intersection of Madison Avenue and Anton Street in Bridgeport where he crashed. The driver was believed to still have the firearm used in the robbery with him.
