Westport News: Fraudulent Withdraw From Bank

#Westport CT--On January 27th , 2023, Ms. Reppi was arrested by Wilton Police Department for allegedly attempting to fraudulently withdraw money from a Webster Bank in Wilton. Pursuant to their arrest, Ms. Reppi spoke with Wilton Police Investigators and admitted to successfully withdrawing money fraudulently from the Webster Bank in Westport. Westport Detectives were notified and initiated an investigation. They were able to confirm, through video surveillance, that prior to attempting the withdrawal in Wilton, Ms. Reppi allegedly withdrew money from Webster bank in Westport fraudulently. Bridgeport News: Man Shot

Police UPDATE: On March 8, 2023, at approximately 2:50 pm the Bridgeport Police Department received reports of shots fired near the intersection of State Street & Iranistan Avenue.  Police Officers responded to the area and located a 52-year-old Bridgeport man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the leg.  He was quickly transported to an area hospital where he is listed in stable condition.  No suspect information at this time.  The Detective Bureau has responded and taken over the investigation.  Detectives have collected evidence in the 800 block of Iranistan Avenue and are currently conducting interviews.  The scene on Iranistan Avenue is now clear of police activity and has been reopened to the public.  This appears to be an isolated incident. …

Trumbull News: Road Rage Arrest

#Trumbull CT--A man from Trumbull Avenue, Bridgeport, named Robert Butler, aged 27, was arrested by Trumbull Police on Saturday, March 4, 2023. The police arrested him for pointing a loaded handgun at another driver in the parking lot of Target on Hawley Lane. The incident took place around 3:00 PM and was related to road rage involving a firearm. When the police arrived at 120 Hawley Lane, they met with the complainant who reported that Butler, while driving his vehicle, tried to cut them off in the Target parking lot. Butler stopped his car next to the complainant’s vehicle, and both exchanged some words. Butler then pointed the barrel of his firearm at the other motorist and left the area.…

Bridgeport News: Teen Arrested In Deliveryman Homicide

#Bridgeport CT-- On March 4, 2023, at approximately 7:25 pm, Bridgeport Police responded to the area of Boston Avenue and Palisades Avenue on a ShotSpotter activation. ShotSpotter is a gunshot detection system. Once gunshots are fired in an area covered by this service, police receive a notification within one minute directing them to the exact location of the gunfire. Citizens also called the Bridgeport Emergency Operations Center reporting numerous shots fired and a person shot. Within minutes of the ShotSpotter activation, 1st responding Bridgeport Police Officer Sorie Kamara engaged an armed 17-year-old suspect in foot pursuit on Tudor Street. ATTORNEY GENERAL TONG SUES FOUR GHOST GUN DEALERS FOR ILLEGAL SALES IN CONNECTICUT

(Hartford, CT) – Attorney General William Tong today sued four out-of-state firearm dealers selling and advertising illegal, untraceable “ghost gun” parts in Connecticut. On October 1, 2019, Connecticut banned the sale and receipt of unfinished frame and lower receiver gun components lacking serial numbers or unique identification, which are used to build ghost guns. Despite that, defendants Indie Guns of Florida, Steel Fox Firearms of Florida, Hell Fire Armory of North Carolina, and AR Industries of Utah each sold and shipped illegal ghost guns to an undercover investigator from the Office of the Attorney General. Youth Services Staffer Since 1999 Exits April 4 The Stratford Library has announced that Youth Services Librarian Tess Beck will retire her position on April 4 after 24 years. Beck graduated with a Master's in Library Science from Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey. She joined the Stratford Library Youth Services Department in July 1999. Tess Beck was instrumental in creating numerous programs at the Library which addressed child development needs and skills for new parents. These included Baby Lapsit, Beginning with Babies, Babies & Beyond, Storytimes, and StoryCraft programs.
