Fairfield Rotary Collecting Donations for Veterans During Memorial Day Parade

Please help support veterans by bringing food or making a donation during Fairfield’s Memorial Day Parade For the 15th consecutive year, during the Memorial Day Parade in Fairfield on Monday, May 25th, the Rotary Club will be collecting non-perishable food/canned goods and money, cash, credit card, or checks made out to “Homes for the Brave,” along the parade route to donate and support local Veterans. As is tradition, local Veterans will be riding in the truck and helping collect. Marchers will walk along the parade route collecting items including canned goods, coffee, powder creamers, twin sized sheets, towels, and any toiletries. Police Activity In Stratford

Police UPDATE: The Stratford Police Department responded to an address on Claudia Drive on a report of aperson in a mental health crisis at approximately 1113 hours.Access to the immediate area has been restricted and the Special Response Team is on scene.There is no threat to the public at this time. Further details will be made available whenpossible. People in Stratford near the intersection of Success Avenue and Stonybrook Road are being asked to stay inside their homes while police investigate an incident in the area. Officials said there is no threat to the community at large at this time. More information will be provided as it becomes available.

Firefighters are on scene at Jane Street by Noble Ave in Bridgeport for a report of a fire in the walls. The fire started with some outside debris and moved to the walls. Firefighters quickly put the fire out.

Easton EMS Shows Off New Headquarters During EMS Week

EMS Week recognizes the EMTs, paramedics, and volunteers who provide lifesaving emergency care before patients ever reach the hospital, and in Easton, this year’s recognition came with a major upgrade for those crews. The building has a long history in town and originally served as a firehouse, but it was not designed for modern emergency medical service. Over the years, EMS inherited spaces left behind from the fire department era, including a bar, dance floor, and smoking lounge, which may have fit an old social hall, but were not practical for today’s ambulance…
