A Summer Tradition Continues: The Stratford Summer Sunset Concert Series Kicks-Off June 17th

STRATFORD – The Stratford Department of Recreation is excited to announce that the 2025 Summer Sunset Concert Series will kick-off on Tuesday, June 17th. The concerts are performed at the Paradise Green Gazebo on Tuesdays through August 26th. In the event of inclement weather, concerts will be held the following Thursday. Readers Theatre Showcase Set for Stratford Library

The Stratford Library and Square One Theatre Company have announced the schedule for the Readers Theatre Summer Showcase 2025. The annual series of live, staged readings of new and established plays will begin on Wednesday, June 18 and continue on seven evenings through July 30. All performances are free and open to the public.The festival opens June 18 with Job, a tense contemporary drama by Max Wolf Friedlich, starring Lynnette Victoria and Pat Leo. Planned Protest for June 14th Will Cause Traffic Congestion

(Westport, CT) Westport Police were notified of a planned protest that will take place on the Ruth Steinkraus Cohen Bridge (Route 1) on June 14, 2025, beginning at 11:00 a.m. Organizers have alerted the Westport Police that several hundred people have signed up for the protest, but since this is a national protest, they are anticipating attendance to exceed 1000 people. At 7:36 AM, Officer Equi was monitoring morning rush hour traffic along East Avenue when she observed a black Tesla traveling southbound fail to stop for a red traffic control signal at the intersection of East Avenue and Hendricks Avenue. Westport Dumpster Fire Contained Quickly on Hales Court

2025-06-12@11:27am--#Westport CT-- Westport firefighters responded to a dumpster fire about 8 feet from a residential structure on Hales Court. Engine 5 arrived to find a fully involved dumpster fire exposing the nearby home. Additional engines and the truck company were dispatched. Crews quickly established a water supply, cooled the residence, and extinguished the fire, preventing it from spreading to the building. The fire was brought under control within seven minutes of arrival. The Westport Fire Marshal’s office is investigating. WEMS, Westport Police, and Westport Housing also responded. No one was displaced and there were no injuries. The last fire unit cleared at 12:25pm.

Bridgeport Man Held on $1.2M Bond in Stalking and Firearm Case

On June 5, 2025, Hippolito Rodriguez, age 52, of Bridgeport was arrested by warrant for six different incidents where he harassed and stalked an ex-girlfriend. The incidents took place from January to April of this year. Rodriguez was initially arrested last Wednesday, 5/28/2025, by the United States Marshalls Fugitive Task Force and the Bridgeport Police Department. Rodriguez was arrested on 5 failure to appear warrants for cases from Bridgeport, Connecticut State Police and Branford Police Department. Ansonia Man Charged with Stealing Over $20K from Elderly Resident

On June 4, 2025, Harry Danley, age 55, of Ansonia was arrested by warrant for his involvement in a fraud and theft investigation. The conservator for an 85-year-old Ansonia resident reported the possible theft in March of 2025. The investigation showed numerous checks written to Danley dating back to 2020 totaling over $20,000.00 and there appeared to be no legitimate reason for the checks. Danley was charged with Larceny First Degree, he was released on a $35,000.00 bond with a court date of June 18, 2025 at Derby Superior Court.

Westport Police investigated two (2) stolen vehicle reports yesterday where vehicles were left unlocked and keys in the vehicle. We had one (1) vehicle theft attempt and one call of suspicious people running from an open garage and fleeing the area in a stolen vehicle.
