Westport to Host UN Guests on June 29
Westport, CT - The Town of Westport, the UN Hospitality Committee and the United Nations Association of Southwestern Connecticut will host over 300 guests from the United Nations community in New York for the annual jUNe Day celebration on Saturday, June 29 in Westport. Fairfield Center Station Repaving Project Scheduled for July 8 – 19
A repaving and repair project will begin Monday, July 8th at the Fairfield Center Station NY/Westbound Lot. Work is expected to be complete by Friday, July 19th. The lot will be worked on in 2 phases. Phase 1 will be the Unquowa Road side; phase 2, the Mill Plain side. The entrance will be closed on the side of the lot undergoing repair/repaving. There will be no designated permit or day parking areas during the project period. Parking will be available in the other half of the lot, Mill Plain Lot, Tomlinson lower lot, Tomlinson upper lot behind school (though limited) and the small lot immediately south of Roger Ludlowe Middle School. On June 24, 2019, the Norwalk Police Department was contacted by the Bennington, Vermont Police Department regarding a fugitive named Zachary Dumas, who was believed to be staying on Cedar Street in Norwalk. Dumas had an active arrest warrant for larceny from a person, criminal threatening and habitual criminal which stemmed from a robbery of a restaurant. Special Services Officers began conducting surveillance of the area and observed a Chevrolet sedan park on Summit Avenue. Dumas exited the driver’s side of the vehicle, at which time officers moved in to arrest him.
