Norwalk News: Body Found In The Marina

Norwalk Police UPDATE:  On June 30, 2019 at 9:24pm, Norwalk Police, Norwalk Fire and Norwalk Hospital EMS responded to 1 Selleck Street for a male that fallen into the Norwalk River and had not surfaced. Arriving first responders began a search for the male. The Stamford Fire Department responded to the scene with their on-duty dive personnel. Stamford Fire dive personnel located the male underwater and brought him to the surface, where he was transferred to the care of EMS. The male was transported to the Norwalk Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The male was identified as 62 year-old Jozef Gorski of Easton. Fairfield News: 6 Injured In Deck Collapse

2019-06-30 @ 6:40pm--#Fairfield CT--Firefighters were called for a deck collapse on Rhode Island Avenue (across from the Metro Train Station).  Assistant Fire Chief Scott Bisson said six people were injured, one seriously.  The deck had collapsed away from the house so no one was trapped under the deck.  Bisson said the injuries was consistent with a fall from eight feet.  Stratford EMS provided mutual support of additional ambulance and EMS personnel.  The building inspector has been called to the scene to investigate the cause of the collapse.

2:39pm--Extensive storm damage from Norwalk to Bridgeport and all points in between.  Lots of reports of downed trees blocking roadways.  Extensive power outages.   #Fairfield CT-- Downed trees and power lines has a person stuck in the vehicle in front of St. Paul's Church on the Old Post Road.   #Westport CT-- People trapped in the cars due to downed trees on Westport Avenue both in Westport and Fairfield.   #Easton CT-- Route 58 and 136 area has no power and no traffic lights are working.   #Fairfield CT-- Sturges Highway numerous downed trees blocking the roadway in both directions.   #Bridgeport CT-- Numerous power outages reported.   Please feel free to report damage in your area and post pictures…

Fast Moving Storms

#Westport CT-- A fast moving thunderstorm created multiple storm related calls for the Westport Fire Department. The storm was reported to produce heavy rain, winds, and hail. In a timespan of approximately 45 minutes, the fire department responded to 18 calls for service. These calls ranged from power lines burning, trees resting on power lines, carbon monoxide calls, and a large tree that had fallen on a house. There were no storm related injuries reported and at this time, there are areas with no power. Eversource was notified of the outages and downed power lines that the fire department was made aware.   All residents should take care and remain observant of down power lines.
