Governor Orders Flags To Half Staff

HARTFORD, CT – Governor Dannel P. Malloy is directing U.S. and state flags in Connecticut to fly at half-staff from sunrise to sunset on Saturday, July 28, 2018, in honor of U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. James Tyler Grotjan of Waterford, who died from injuries sustained while stationed overseas at Al Dhafra Air Base in the United Arab Emirates.  A funeral service in his remembrance is being held on Saturday in New London. Bridgeport News: Police Reunite Child With Dad After Being In Car During Carjacking

How about some likes for the Bridgeport Police Department who searched for a red Nissan that was taken in a carjacking on Park Avenue with a five-year-old still inside. All departments in the police department including housing details and detectives searched the city. The car was first located and it was located but lost on Newfield Avenue. “Housing One” was driving on I-95 northbound when he located the vehicle and followed the car until back up arrived. Bridgeport, CT – Mayor Ganim  is praising the hard work of the Bridgeport Legislative Delegation for securing over $10 million in state bonding investment for various cultural institutions and schools in the city. Westport News: Bridge Construction Scheduled

#Westport CT - Town officials have been notified by the Connecticut Department of Transportation (ConnDOT) that during an inspection by the Bridge Safety Department several weeks ago, structural deficiencies were discovered both in the substructure and ornamental truss structure of the Cribari Bridge (CT Rte. 136 over the Saugatuck River, State Bridge # 0158-01349). ConnDOT has determined that immediate repairs are necessary to maintain the continued safety and stability of the existing bridge structure. ConnDOT intends to commence construction to repair the deficiencies on July 30, 2018, tentatively completing the work within 6 weeks, weather permitting. Bridgeport News: Shots Fired During Robbery

Bridgeport Police UDATE:  The Mobil Station located at Boston and Noble Avenue was robbed at gunpoint by two Black males. The Black males were wearing all black with black masks covering their faces. One of the Black males had a very large revolver and discharges a round at the cashier who attempted several times to grab the gun from the suspect.  The unusual size and style of this firearm is all we have to identify the possible suspect.
