3:15pm--#Fairfield CT--#Bridgeport CT-- A fourteen-year-old autistic boy from Monroe walked along the sandbar from Fairfield beach. As the water began to rise for the 3:56pm high tide, the boy began to panic. Nearby fishermen spotted the boy and picked brought him aboard their boat. The boy was brought to the Pier 5 where first responders were staged, he was checked out by EMS and he only suffered some cuts and scratches from the rough portion of the sandbar.
#Fairfield CT-- On May 25th, 2018 the Fairfield Police Department School Safety Unit received a report of a bomb threat at Fairfield Warde High School. Preliminary investigation revealed that a juvenile, who is currently in custody at Headquarters, fabricated the threat. As a precautionary measure, the building and high school campus have been evacuated and are currently closed. All activities on school property have been canceled. The police department has just cleared the campus and the threat was deemed not credible. This case is currently being investigated by the Fairfield Police School Safety Unit. 12:39pm--#Stratford CT-- Your holiday commute is off to a good start with a four to five car crash I-95 southbound between exits 31 and 32. Reports say the left and center lane is closed.
12:34am--#Bridgeport CT-- Firefighters quick action prevented a basement fire in the 300 block of Hallett Street from extending to elsewhere in the home or to adjoining units. There were no reported injuries.
12:22pm--#Bridgeport CT-- A man was shot in the leg in a drive-by shooting outside Junco #2 on Highland Street near Washington Avenue. The victim was driven to the hospital by private vehicle. He does not have any life-threatening injuries.
10:47pm--#Bridgeport CT-- Police on the way to Shelton Street and Helen Street for a report of a woman with a hammer busting out windows of a mini-van. This news report is made possible by:
7:31pm--#Bridgeport CT-- It continues to be a tough day for motorcyclists. A car and motorcycle collided at Truman and Park Avenue. Both the driver of the car and the motorcyclist were injured. Witnesses said the motorcyclist had riding gear on as well as a helmet.
