DoingItLocal is run by Steve Krauchick. Steve has always had interest with breaking news even as an early teen, opting to listen to the Watergate hearings instead of top 40 on the radio. His interest in news spread to become the communities breaking news leader in Connecticut’s Fairfield County. He strongly believes that the public has right to know what is happening in their backyard and that government needs to be transparent. Steve also likes promoting local businesses.

MIDDLETOWN, CT (December 31, 2017): The Connecticut State Police are supplementing the normal patrol force with additional State Troopers throughout New Year’s weekend. The increased patrols began at 12:01 a.m. on Friday, 12/29/2017, and will conclude at 11:59 p.m. on Monday 01/01/2018. Troopers will enforce all motor vehicle laws and focus on reducing the number of DUIs, crashes and injury-producing accidents occurring on the interstates, state roads and local roadways. Trumbull News: Fight Causes Scare At Trumbull Mall

3:40pm--#Trumbull CT-- A fight at Macy's in the Trumbull Westfield Mall at 5065 Main Street sent customers and employees running.  There was a report of four males fighting in the walkway between the jewelry and makeup sending merchandise on the counter crashing to the ground.  Witnesses told me they thought it was gunfire and hid.  One employee called the police for the reports of shots fired and she said she was hiding in a changing room.  Bridgeport Police was also called to the scene for back up for shots fired but once it was determined no shots were fired their services were canceled.  Fairfield Police K-9 was also called but it was determined that there was nothing for them to track off…

Bridgeport Police Statement On Fatal Hit And Run

#Bridgeport CT--The Bridgeport Police Serious Crash Investigation Team responded to a report of a pedestrian struck by a car on the 600 block of Sylvan Ave at approximately 8:10pm on Dec 29th.  Nathaniel Dubose, 66, of Bridgeport was walking on Sylvan Ave when he was struck by grey or silver car travelling south on Sylvan Ave.  The driver of the striking vehicle fled the scene. Mr. Dubose, who sustained severe head trauma, was transported to St Vincent’s Hospital by medics where he died as a result of his injuries.  The investigation is continuing.  Officer John Perry is the lead investigator. Bridgeport News: Man Shot

8:40pm--#Bridgeport CT-- A person walked into the Shell Gas Station at 4402 Main Street and told the clerk he was shot.  The victim waited a few minutes then got into a black car.  A few minutes later he arrived at St. Vincent's Hospital to awaiting police.  There was no crime scene at the gas station.  Detectives are investigating.   This news report is made possible by:
