Stephen Krauchick

DoingItLocal is run by Steve Krauchick. Steve has always had interest with breaking news even as an early teen, opting to listen to the Watergate hearings instead of top 40 on the radio. His interest in news spread to become the communities breaking news leader in Connecticut’s Fairfield County. He strongly believes that the public has right to know what is happening in their backyard and that government needs to be transparent. Steve also likes promoting local businesses.

5:00pm--#Fairfield Connecticut-- Firefighters were called to a structure fire at 241 Old Stratfield Road. The visible flames were seen from a rear bedroom window. Radio reports said that neighbors were setting up ladders to get the people from the second floor out of the building. Everyone made it safely out of the home. Firefighters had to enter through a window on the second floor taking up valuable time. Firefighters had a hard time entering the first floor door. A representative from the building department was requested to the scene as well as animal control for the pets living in the home. There were no reported injuries.
