Senators Question Tesla On Safety
After alarming reporting on Tesla safety flaws, U.S. Senators Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) and Edward J. Markey (D-MA) called on the company to immediately recall all vehicle components that pose a risk to consumers. Bridgeport News: Shooting
On December 22, 2023, at approximately 11:00 pm Bridgeport Police Officers responded to the 100 block of Dekalb Avenue on the report of a party shot. Police arrived on scene and located the victim. The victim was transported to an area hospital via AMR Ambulance for treatment of a non-life-threatening gunshot wound (graze) to the head. The Detective Bureau responded and took charge of the investigation. The scene was processed, evidence was collected, and interviews were conducted. The victim has been identified as a 21-year-old Naugatuck man. The victim was seated in a parked car, with friends from the Dekalb Avenue neighborhood, when he shot. Fairfield News: Fatal Crash
State Police Update: At approximately 10:38pm on Saturday, December 23, 2023, the Connecticut State Police responded to a reported single-car motor vehicle collision on Route 15 South, prior to exit 42. Upon arrival, troopers found a white 2016 Toyota Corolla with Connecticut registration #BK35022 stopped in the middle of two travel lanes. Additionally, a white 2021 Infiniti Q50, bearing Connecticut registration #845ZWN, was in the right shoulder with its front end against the wood beam guardrail. Preliminary investigation revealed that the Toyota, traveling southbound, collided with the concrete barrier in the median, leading it to an uncontrolled final rest in the left lane. Norwalk News: Evading Accident Arrest
At 5:00 AM on November 7, 2023, Norwalk Combined Dispatch received reports of a motor vehicle accident involving an individual evading responsibility at the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and Madison Street. Norwalk Police Officers promptly responded, locating a person who had been struck by the fleeing vehicle. The injured individual was urgently transported to Norwalk Hospital with life-threatening injuries. Taking charge of the investigation, the Norwalk Police Detective Bureau collaborated closely with the Crime Scene Unit and Crash Reconstruction Investigators. Through a comprehensive effort that included interviewing witnesses, reviewing surveillance footage, and collecting evidence from the scene, the investigators successfully identified and located the evading vehicle.
