DoingItLocal is run by Steve Krauchick. Steve has always had interest with breaking news even as an early teen, opting to listen to the Watergate hearings instead of top 40 on the radio. His interest in news spread to become the communities breaking news leader in Connecticut’s Fairfield County. He strongly believes that the public has right to know what is happening in their backyard and that government needs to be transparent. Steve also likes promoting local businesses.

Bridgeport News: Man Shot 7 Times

Bridgeport, Conn. (September 13, 2015) -- Early this morning, the Bridgeport Police Department responded to a non-fatal shooting near Stratford Ave. & Newfield Ave. At 3:30 a.m., police officers responded to a call about shots fired in the area of Stratford Ave. & Newfield Ave. The 24 year-old male victim suffered seven gunshot wounds in the chest and abdomen area. After accusing Mayor Finch of suppressing  the news until after the election the Connecticut Post endorses the mayor. Press release from Mayor Finch's Campaign: Bridgeport, Conn. (September 13, 2015) -- Today, the CT Post -- the state's second largest newspaper -- endorsed Mayor Bill Finch's re-election bid in Bridgeport, Conn. In an editorial titled, “Finch has kept momentum in Bridgeport," the publication's editorial board asserted that Mayor Finch's leadership has the city moving in the right direction. UPDATE: State Police Detectives Investigate Stratford Police Involved Shooting

On September 11, 2015 at approximately 5:00 a.m. the Stratford Police Department executed a search warrant at 25 Yarwood St. in their town. During the course the search warrant, the accused approached Stratford Police Officers with a weapon – not a firearm. The suspect disobeyed orders to stop, resulting in a Stratford Police Officer discharging his duty weapon at the suspect. The suspect received non-life-threatening injuries as a result. There were no reported injuries to Stratford Police Officers. The suspect was treated for his injuries, and transported to Bridgeport hospital for further evaluation.
