DoingItLocal is run by Steve Krauchick. Steve has always had interest with breaking news even as an early teen, opting to listen to the Watergate hearings instead of top 40 on the radio. His interest in news spread to become the communities breaking news leader in Connecticut’s Fairfield County. He strongly believes that the public has right to know what is happening in their backyard and that government needs to be transparent. Steve also likes promoting local businesses.

Man arrested for tresspassing at Sikorsky Aircraft

A tip we received said "a  man tries jumping fence to break into Sikorsky Aircraft around 4:20am he gave 2 different stories, one was he lost his badge to get in, second story was Barack Obama sent him in to test the security here, Stratford cops show up and took him away, young male mid twenties maybe, and was very calm an collective the entire time".  I passed the call on to the Stratford Star and they confirmed with police that a 27 year old man was allegedly a trespasser was “committed for a medical checkup.”

Stratford Calls-Much to do about nothing..

11:15ish--#Stratford CT--First responders were busy with two calls, both turning out to be nothing significant.  Both calls were simultaneous and it difficult for me to keep track of so I went out to both.  There was a call out Ii believe in the 11 block of Barnum Avenue.  I went to both calls and as I was exiting I-95 the call for the suspicious package the K-9 on scene did not hit on the package and police took the package back to headquarters.  The State Police Bomb Squad was called to the scene but was called off. A not so happy ending….

(Bridgeport, CT – June 25, 2013) – A 42-year-old was robbed by a woman and two men early Monday after the victim was approached and asked if he wanted some company. Officer Thomas Harper was dispatched to Sanford Place and Vine Street on a reported street robbery and located the 42-year-old victim, who stated the incident happened on Milne Street near his house. He said he got out of his car just before 2 a.m.  when he was approached by a woman who asked if he wanted some company.
