DoingItLocal is run by Steve Krauchick. Steve has always had interest with breaking news even as an early teen, opting to listen to the Watergate hearings instead of top 40 on the radio. His interest in news spread to become the communities breaking news leader in Connecticut’s Fairfield County. He strongly believes that the public has right to know what is happening in their backyard and that government needs to be transparent. Steve also likes promoting local businesses.

Bridgeport News: Fatal Accident Investigated

#Bridgeport CT-- On January 20, 2023, at approximately 1827 hours the Bridgeport Emergency Operations Center received several calls for a motor vehicle accident with injuries, and parties are now arguing. A female caller stated a female operator involved in the accident is trapped in her vehicle and going into cardiac arrest. A second caller stated the parties are still arguing on the scene. American Medical Response, Bridgeport Fire E3/E4, and the Bridgeport Police were dispatched to the location. Upon arrival, an officer stated, he observed six vehicles with damage. Police UPDATE: Trumbull Police charged two (2) men for fighting and causing a disturbance at the Trumbull Stop & Shop on Quality Street on Friday, January 20, 2023. Robert Zacchia, age 55, of Madison Avenue, Trumbull, and Emmanuel Andriotis, age 19, of Old Town Road, Bridgeport were both arrested and charged for their involvement in this incident. Police investigation learned that as Zacchia was walking through the Stop & Shop parking lot, Andriotis was driving. Both men then made eye contact and arm gestures toward each other. Bridgeport News: Warrant Arrests

#Bridgeport CT-- On January 19, 2023, at around 10 pm, the Bridgeport Police Department's Tactical Narcotics Team (TNT) executed a search warrant at a residence on Shelton Street as part of a narcotics investigation. With the assistance of the Patrol Division, they detained three adults, Colon, Maldonado, and Nieves, and found packaged crack cocaine and money in plain view. They also found a firearm with no valid CT pistol permit in Nieves' possession. TNT entered the main dwelling and detained an adult female, Rodriguez, and a large dog. Milford News: Assault and Other Charges

#Milford CT--On January 20, 2023, police were dispatched to the Mayflower Motel for an assault. The victim stated that they let Tykuan Kelly, 30 of Bridgeport use their vehicle and he was supposed to bring it back by 10pm. Upon returning to the motel after midnight, they approached Kelly as he exited the vehicle. Kelly grabbed them around the neck and slammed them into the motel wall. He then grabbed them by the neck with two hands and began to strangle them, restricting their breathing. Kelly then slammed them to the ground. Kelly then returned to his motel room. Technical Schools On Lock-In/Out

Frank Recchia of News12 is reporting to us that Frank all Connecticut Technical Education and Career System (CTECS) schools have been placed in a secure school protocol after a threat. CTECS says they were made aware of the threat, but state police do not believe it is credible. The schools were placed in a secure protocol out of an abundance of caution. The secure protocol means that all exterior doors are locked, and no outside visitors will be permitted to access the building. There is no word on what the actual threat entailed.
