City of Bridgeport Receives Funds
Bridgeport, CT – The City of Bridgeport is set to receive funding from the recent 2023 Bipartisan Omnibus Spending Bill that was passed to assist municipal governments. The $1.7 trillion bill allows towns and cities throughout Connecticut to receive funding for projects under the process that was once known as “earmarking.” The practice allocates large pots of money to lawmakers to aid their state and respective districts. Milford News: Woman Thrown From Car
#Milford CT--On December 28, officers were dispatched to Gulf Street near Dock Road for a woman being thrown from a vehicle. Upon arrival, the suspect, Mandel Givens, was attempting to leave the scene and was detained after a brief struggle with the officers. Witnesses stated seeing a vehicle at the side of the road and a woman screaming for help. The victim stated that while giving Givens a ride, he attempted to take the keys of the vehicle and grabbed the steering wheel. When they pulled over, a struggle ensued, and Givens threw the victim to the ground. #Bridgeport News: On January 1, 2023, at approximately 3:00 am Bridgeport Police Officers responded to Federal Street on a report of a party shot in the leg. The incident allegedly began inside Club Azul (922 Madison Avenue) and ended with the assault taking place outside the club on Federal Street. Further information indicated the victim was transported by private vehicle to the hospital. A short time later the Bridgeport Emergency Operations Center received information that a male party presented himself at an area hospital suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the leg. 2023-01-01@12:53am--#Bridgeport CT--The Bridgeport Emergency Operations Center received information that a male party presented himself at an area hospital suffering from a single non-life-threatening gunshot wound (graze) to the abdomen. The victim is a 32-year-old Bridgeport man. The Detective Bureau has responded and taken over the investigation. The victim alleges that he was shot while standing on Harral Avenue in front of the Junco Market at 533 Harral Avenue. Unknown suspect(s). 2022-01-01@7:58am-- A viewer sent in this photo of a kitchen fire in the 300 block of Palisades Avenue this morning. He said firefighters quickly extinguished the fire, keeping it the one apartment. He said firefighters extricated his wife, 18-month-old child, and himself out of a 2nd-floor window since the hallway was full of smoke.
Seymour Water Main Break and Route 67 Closure

On Sunday, January 1, 2023, at approximately 1230 hours, The Town of Seymour was made aware of a water main break on Route 67 in the area of Day Street and Washington Avenue. The road is closed in both directions. Currently Seymour Fire Department personnel is on the scene assisting Seymour Police. The water line involved appears to be a sixteen (16”) inch line. Aquarion Water Company is on scene shutting off water and assessing the damage.
