DoingItLocal is run by Steve Krauchick. Steve has always had interest with breaking news even as an early teen, opting to listen to the Watergate hearings instead of top 40 on the radio. His interest in news spread to become the communities breaking news leader in Connecticut’s Fairfield County. He strongly believes that the public has right to know what is happening in their backyard and that government needs to be transparent. Steve also likes promoting local businesses.

Stratford News: One Dead In Crash

Police UPDATE: On 08/18/2022 at approximately 1:30 pm Officers from the Stratford Police Department responded to the area of South Ave and Spada Blvd to investigate a motor vehicle crash.Upon arrival, the investigation determined that a Honda driven by Jamar Blackburn (age 38) of Bridgeport exited I95 south at exit 31 and crashed into a Ford driven by Jason Fonseca- Kennedy (age 26) of Waterbury. Stratford News: Structure Fire

Stratford Fire UPDATE: At approx. 11:08 AM, The Stratford Fire Dept. was dispatched to 65 Guzzi Drive,for a reported structure fire. On arrival, Engine 2 reported a fully involvedstructure fire. Under the command of Assistant Chief Brennan, Engines 1, 2, 3, 4,Tac5 and Truck 1 responded with a total of 22 firefighters and 1 Safety Officer. Thefire was located inside the living room of the 1,000-square-foot ranch-style single-family home. The fire was under control in approx. 20 minutes. The Milford andBridgeport Fire Departments provided station coverage during the incident. Therewere no injuries reported. Kia & Hyundai Thefts Increase due to TikTok Challenge

On 8-16-22 just after midnight, Shelton Police were called to the area of Coram Aveand Hill St on a report of young males attempting to break into vehicles. The males werein a Hyundai that was reported stolen out of another town. It was then relayed that avehicle was stolen from Shelton.Police located the suspected stolen vehicle out of Shelton driving on the Derby/Shelton Bridge. Today Congressman Himes visited Natural Annie, a soy-based candle company located at 1313 Connecticut Avenue where he made his own candle during his visit. The Woman Business Development Corporation was also on hand and provided Annie with funding and technical assistance. Annie plans to expand the business and invest in additional equipment to better serve her clients.
