Between July 6, 2021, and July 7, 2021, Westport Police officers took two separatereports of tires and rims being stolen off vehicles. The first incident occurred at the SaugatuckTrain Station on July 6 at approximately 3:00 p.m. The second tire/rim theft occurred at theparking garage located at 21 Wilton Road on July 7 between 1:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. As a result of informational sharing with area police departments that experiencedsimilar crimes Shawn Oliphant was developed as a suspect. Evidence linking Mr. Oliphant tothe two larcenies was reportedly obtained by the detective assigned to this case.Based upon the investigation, a warrant for Mr. Oliphant’s arrest was completed andsigned by a Superior Court Judge. #Norwalk CT-- On September 21st, 2021 at approximately 1:50 p.m., the suspect picturedrobbed the Fairfield County Bank at 121 New Canaan Ave. The suspect waswearing blue latex gloves, a hard hat, sunglasses and a mask resembling a tiger’smouth. The suspect passed the teller a note demanding cash and that he wasarmed. The suspect did not display a weapon, but manipulated his backpack tomake it seem like he was armed. The suspect was given money and fled the areain a white sedan with no plates, possibly older Hyundai, and was last seen in thearea of Parallel Street and Cavanaugh Street. Extended Application Deadline for American Rescue Plan Act Funding for Small Businesses
#BRIDGEPORT, CT – City of Bridgeport announces that the deadline to submit American Rescue Plan (ARP) grant applications in response to the request for proposals (RFP) from small businesseshas been extended to September 30, 2021. City representatives will be onsite hosting a workshop at the BRBC’s Business Expo tomorrow from 12:30pm-1pm for any small business owner that has questions about the application. Applications were initially due on August 31st and hundreds of small businesses applied for funding. Westport and its surrounding communities experience car thefts as well asvehicle break-ins on a regular basis. These crimes are often committed by juveniles and/oryoung adults.This task force is a collaboration between local law enforcement agencies to combat theproliferation of auto theft in the Fairfield County Region.
