DoingItLocal is run by Steve Krauchick. Steve has always had interest with breaking news even as an early teen, opting to listen to the Watergate hearings instead of top 40 on the radio. His interest in news spread to become the communities breaking news leader in Connecticut’s Fairfield County. He strongly believes that the public has right to know what is happening in their backyard and that government needs to be transparent. Steve also likes promoting local businesses.

Fairfield Firefighters Battle A Large Brush Fire

Fire Department UPDATE: At 8:54PM PM the Fairfield Emergency Communications Center received a call from a resident at 36 Chestnut Street reporting a fire in the rear of her house. Car 3 Engines 1, 2, 3, and 4, Ladder 2 and Rescue 1 were dispatched. While responding Car 3 could see a large column of smoke in the area and called for Engine 5 to be added to the assignment. Fairfield Car 2 also responded to the command post. Car 3, under the command of Assistant Chief Erik Kalapir, arrived on scene at 9:02PM and reported heavy fire in the rear of 36 Chestnut street and established command. Bridgeport News: Woman Shot

2020-06-19@12:26am--#Bridgeport CT-- Last night, may of you messaged me wondering if it was shots fired on Maplewood Avenue in the 200 block.  I couldn't answer your because the press radios were turned off per the mayor.  Later today the police said that a man called to report his girlfriend was hit and that he was driving her to the hospital.  Police met them at St. Vincent's hospital and determined that she sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the shoulder.   This news report is made possible by:
