Bridgeport Police Arrest Robbery Suspects
On the morning of Friday, November 17, 2023, the Bridgeport Police apprehended two local men, 33-year-old Carlos Souffront and 46-year-old Angel Martinez, for assaulting and robbing a 75-year-old man in his East Main St. backyard the previous day. The victim suffered a minor head injury as the assailants repeatedly punched him, pushing him against a dumpster and stealing his wallet. Detectives from the Robbery/Burglary Unit located Souffront and Martinez at the corner of Kossuth St. and Maple St. on the East Side around 8:00 AM, where they were seen with the black Nissan Rogue stolen from Stratford, the vehicle they had used to escape the scene. Shelton News: Teens With Guns
On 10/24/2023 the Shelton Police Department arrested 18 year old JaidenLanzi of Shelton and 19 year old Jason Smith of Derby. Both Lanzi and Smithwere charged with being in possession of a stolen firearm and related charges.The arrest stems from an incident that was reported to Shelton Police on10/17/2023, where two firearms were stolen from a Shelton residence. During theinvestigation it was discovered that the firearms had transitioned through severalindividuals.Through interviews and follow up investigation the Shelton Police applied forand were granted search warrants to search residences and vehicles in Shelton,Derby, and North Haven.
