Bridgeport News: Shooting Suspect Arrested

#Bridgeport CT-- On June 21, 2023, at approximately 7:35 pm Bridgeport Police responded to the area of Madison Avenue and Robin Street on numerous reports of shots fired with a victim on scene.  The Emergency Operations Center updated responding officers with a suspect description.     Upon arrival, Officers located a male victim suffering from injuries to his head and a gunshot wound to the leg.  Officers observed a suspect fitting the description hovering over the victim.  At that point, the victim was laying on the sidewalk just outside the Brasa Pub & Restaurant located at 1439 Madison Avenue.  The victim told the officers the suspect was still in possession of a firearm and that the suspect was going to kill…

#Bridgeport, CT – Mayor Ganim met with Local 1159 President Bradford Seely, Bridgeport’s Chief of Police Roderick Porter, and Police Commission Chair Daniel Roach, to announce the tentative agreement that was made between the City of Bridgeport and AFSCME, Council 4, Police Local 1159. The tentative agreement will assist with the recruitment and retention of police officers within the City of Bridgeport by reducing medical insurance costs and implementing pay scale increases. Homicide Arrest

#Bridgeport CT-- 24-year-old Terrence Simpson of Bridgeport CT has been identified as being present during the April 26, 2023, Denver Avenue shootout that culminated in the death of Aaron Hunt. As a result of the criminal investigation conducted by Detective Brian Coyne it was determined that Terrence Simpson targeted and fired at an unidentified secondary victim who was standing on the porch of 92 Denver Avenue.  That secondary victim has yet to come forward and speak with police. Terrence Simpson was taken into custody today and charged with Criminal Attempt Assault in the 1st Degree, Criminal Possession of a Firearm, and Illegal Discharge of a Firearm.  Simpsons bond is set at $75,000.00 and he is scheduled to appear in court on…

Bridgeport News: Stabbing

2023-06-18 (Sunday) @8:21pm--Police were called to the intersection of Beers and Madison Avenue for a person stabbed. There was a scene there, but no victim was found, apparently driven to the hospital by a private vehicle. The actual scene was discovered at the high school near the baseball field. Bridgeport Police said in a statement: On June 18, 2023, at approximately 8:15 pm Bridgeport Police responded to Central High School (1 Lincoln Blvd) on the report of an assault with a dangerous weapon. Upon arriving in the area, police officers located a 26-year-old Bridgeport man suffering from a very large wound to the abdomen.
