Bridgeport News: Homicide Arrest
#Bridgeport CT-- The Gang Task Force arrested James Howard (DOB: 12/16/93) and served him with an arrest warrant that had been obtained by Detective Martin Heanue of the Homicide Unit. The warrant charges Howard with Felony Murder and Robbery in the First Degree for his role in the robbery and homicide of Troy Walker on August 13, 2022, on Knowlton Street, which resulted in two others being shot. This is the second arrest in this case, which remains open until the third perpetrator is apprehended. Great work by Detective Heanue and all those who assisted.
Pediatric & Adult Covid-19 vaccine Clinics Available in 25 Bridgeport Public Schools
Bridgeport, CT – State of Connecticut Department of Public Health along with Griffin Health will be partnering for the month of September with the City of Bridgeport Department of Health & Social Services, Lighthouse Program, and Board of Education to offer pediatric and adult COVID-19 vaccines to the public, free of charge. Every day clinics will run from 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm at different schools. Each vaccination clinic will offer the Moderna, Pfizer, and Johnson & Johnson vaccines for applicable ages starting at 6 months old.

Everyone made it out safely and firefighters quickly extinguished the fire on the 2nd floor. The resident credits a neighbor for alerting them to the smoke. #Bridgeport CT-- On June 25, 2022, at approximately 2223 hours, a Black 2010 Audi A6, bearing New Jersey temporary registration X420054 was involved in a serious motor vehicle collision, at the intersection of East Main Street and Berkshire Avenue. The vehicle fled the scene of this serious motor vehicle collision.The Bridgeport Police Traffic Division is seeking information from anyone that witnessed the collision or has information on the operator/owner of the vehicle. 2022-09-04@12:58pm--#Bridgeport CT--Bridgeport Police received a call of shots fired at a local bar in the 600th block of Brooklawn Ave. A few minutes later at 12:03am overtime detail officer at an area hospital called in a gunshot wound victim had arrived at the hospital by private vehicle. The person suffered a gunshot wound to one of his ankles. Shell casings were located adjacent to 600 Brooklawn Ave. Police are actively investigating this incident.

Bridgeport News: Weapons and Motor Vehicle Violations
On September 1, 2022 at approximately 7:30 pm members of the Narcotics and Vice Division were conducting proactive motor vehicle enforcement on the City’s east side. While traveling south on Helen St. officers observed a silver Acura cross the double yellow line. A motor vehicle stop was conducted at the intersection of Hallett Street and Barnum Avenue. During the investigation the driver, 34-year-old Melvin Rodriguez of Stratford CT, was found to be in possession of a .380 caliber Ruger semi-automatic handgun, brass knuckles, and 4 folds of fentanyl. The passenger, 38-year-old Edgardo Santana Cruz of Bridgeport CT, was found to be in possession of a 9mm Glock semi-automatic handgun with an extended magazine.
