Police UPDATE: Bridgeport Police: At 1521hrs the Bridgeport ECC receive several calls regarding possible parties shot in the area of Fourth St. BPD was immediately dispatched to the area. While enroute the Bridgeport ECC received a call from Bridgeport Hospital reporting a GSW party was dropped off by a private vehicle. Unknown extent of injured. Preliminary reports indicate the incident may have occurred in Stratford and both victims fled into Bridgeport. This is an active investigation. Shots Fired – Barricaded Subject / 600 block of William Street–

#Bridgeport News: On June 9, 2022, at approximately 10:30 AM, the Bridgeport Emergency Operations Center (EOC) received a call of shots fired within the 600 block of William Street. Early information indicated a female subject shot a firearm from the third floor window of a multifamily home within the 600 block of William Street. Uniformed Patrol Officers arrived, identified the multifamily home on William Street, and began to evacuate innocent citizens residing in the area. Patrol Officers set up a perimeter and initiated a Bridgeport Police Emergency Services Unit (ESU) response. Patrol Supervisors established communication with the subject as trained police crisis negotiators began arriving on the scene to assist. 2022-06-10@11:52pm-- Expect Fairfield Avenue between Clinton and Colorado Avenue as a car hit a utility pole, snapping it and taking down wires along with a transformer that is now leaking. The driver fled the scene before firefighters arrived. Power in the are will also be affected. #Bridgeport CT-- The Bridgeport Police Force, which should be at 425 strong is nearing just 300 with transfers and retirements. Congratulations to Captain Brian Fitzgerald on his last day at BPD as he retires. I've worked closely in the past with Captain Fitzgerald and I have to say he was highly professional and effective in getting results as former head detective. This is a big loss for the city in my opinion. Also, Sergeant Tjuana Bradley-Webb has retired after 29 years of service. Bridgeport Police UPDATE:On June 10, 2022, at approximately 1:25 am Bridgeport Police responded to the 100 block of Pricilla Circle on several reports of a party shot. Upon arrival, Patrol Officers located a 37-year-old Bridgeport man lying down in the street suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. AMR ambulance arrived and quickly transported the victim to an area hospital. Patrol Officers secured the crime scene and notified the Detective Bureau (DB). The DB Homicide Squad has taken charge of the investigation with Detectives from the Identification Unit. They have since processed the crime scene, collected several items of evidence, and are working several strong leads. This appears to be an isolated incident where the victim knew his attacker(s).
