Bridgeport News: 30 Families Homeless After Fire

2021-11-05@11:35am–#Bridgeport CT– #ctfire— At least 30 families are without a home after fire ripped through the 2nd and 3rd floor at the Eldorado Apartments at 1130 William Street. A roofing crew was working across the street when Manuel Morales relized what was going on and ran over with his ladder. He rescued a mother and two babies. When firefighters arrived they rescued an additional seven people hanging from the windows. Assistant Fire Chief Harold Clarke told us it took forty minutes to get the fire under control. There were no reported injuries to either firefighters or civilians.

Bridgeport News: 15 Year Old Shoots Man Waiting For Cousin To Come Home From School

On November 3rd, 2021 just after 4:00pm, the Bridgeport Emergency Communications Center received multiple calls of a male shot at the intersection of Trumbull Ave and Reservoir Ave and Bridgeport Police were immediately dispatched to the scene. The 19 year old Victim was transported to St. Vincent’s Hospital with life threatening injuries.

The Bridgeport Police Fusion Center was quickly able to obtain a license plate for the responsible suspect vehicle which was discovered to be stolen out of Trumbull. Members of the regional Auto Theft Task Force were able to locate the vehicle and patrol officers attempted a motor vehicle stop. The driver engaged officers in pursuit and was eventually stopped on State Street. The 15 year old operator was immediately taken into custody. A 19 year old passenger, Carlos Matos of Bridgeport, fled on foot but was later apprehended hiding in a nearby backyard.

Through multiple interviews, it was found the Victim was waiting at the corner of Trumbull Avenue to get his 9 year old cousin off the school bus. The Victim remains hospitalized in critical condition with life threatening injuries. The 15 year old suspect responsible for the shooting was charged with Attempted Murder, Assault in the 1st Degree, and additional felony charges. The juvenile suspect’s name is being withheld at this time due to his age and he was transported to the Bridgeport Juvenile Detention Center. This investigation was accomplished through the collaborative efforts of the Bridgeport Police Detective Bureau, the Regional Auto Theft Task Force, Fusion Center, ID Unit, Patrol Division, and the States Attorney’s Office.

Bridgeport News: 7 Injured In Halloween Crash

Bridgeport Police released statement: At 1919hrs the Bridgeport ECC received multiple 911 calls regarding a multi-vehicle accident on North Avenue. Preliminary reports indicated a party hit multiple cars with one car crashing into a tree. BPD responded to the scene and confirmed a multiple MVA with a report of one of the vehicles just being reported stolen from a gas station moments before the accident. On-scene preliminary reports are indicating one party may have been under the influence. Extent of injuries appear to be non-life threatening at this time but do involve multiple parties with AMR treating the injured. This is still an active investigation as BPD is still deciphering witness accounts and those involved statements.

2021-10-31@7:19pm–#Bridgeport CT– At least 7 people including kids in a multi-car crash on North Avenue between Wood and Norman Street. The roadway is shutdown.

Bridgeport News: Person Shot

2021-10-28@10:30PMish–#Bridgeport CT– Police are investigating a shooting on Harral Avenue. The call originally called in for a person shot at Lexington and Harral Avenue but the victim was found at Center and Harral Avenue.  A crime scene was established at Lexington and Harral a block away.  Police tweeted that a person was shot in the arm on Center Street.

Bridgeport News: 2nd Arrest Made In Homicide

2021-10-25 #Bridgeport CT– This afternoon, Kadeem Frazer (DOB: 10/19/93 of 789 William St) was arrested for his role in the October 2nd murder of Jonathan DaSilva. Allegedly, Robert Sorrells, who was arrested on October 21, fired the shots that killed the victim from the passenger’s seat of Frazer’s car, as Frazer drove. Later that day, Frazer reported his car, a 2017 Mercedes C300, stolen. The following day, just hours after being interviewed by homicide detectives, Frazer’s car was located in the town of Woodbridge, after it was set on fire.
On October 21, Detective Winkler obtained an arrest warrant for Frazer, charging him with Accessory at Murder and Arson in the Second Degree. His is being held on a $2,000,000 bond and will be arraigned in court tomorrow.

Bridgeport News: Pedestrian Struck

Police said: “

On October 10, 2021 at approximately 8:55 pm the Bridgeport Emergency Operations Center received a call for service #2100087513 for a Car vs Pedestrian evading crash at North Avenue and French St.

A pedestrian was crossing North Avenue from the southside of the street to the northside when he was struck in the left travel lane by a dark unidentified vehicle. The vehicle failed to stop and continued eastbound on North Avenue. The Bridgeport Fire Department and AMR responded to the scene. The pedestrian was pronounced deceased on scene by AMR Paramedic. The pedestrian has been identified but name is being withheld pending notification of Next of Kin.

The Bridgeport Police Crash Investigation Team along with Fairfield police Department Regional Crash Investigation Team responded to the scene. Bridgeport Police Traffic Division Officer Thomas Gallbronner is leading the Investigation for the Crash. 2021-10-10@8:56pm–#Bridgeport CT– A pedestrian has been struck on North Avenue in front of Bridgeport News. The driver fled the scene.

But she is Bridgeport Strong and bounced back to active duty in no time! Her no quit attitude was recognized by her union AFSCME and received a Never Quit Award of Service. Bridgeport News: Man Electrocuted In Metro North Substation

2021-10-04@12:28pm–#Bridgeport CT– Metro North workers found a man with “second and third degree burns over a large percentage of his body according to Deputy Chief James Buck (on the video) while he was inside a Metro North substation. The man was electrocuted with 13,800 volts of electricity and was rapidly transported to Bridgeport Hospital.

MOMENTS LATER BPT HOSPITAL CALLED THE ECC INDICATING A PARTY ARRIVED VIA A PRIVATE VEHICLE SUFFERING FROM A GUNSHOT WOUND TO THE HEAD. THE VICTIM LATER SUCCUMBED TO HIS WOUNDS. NO FURTHER INFORMATION AT THIS TIME. DBS ACTIVELY INVESTIGATING THS INCIDENT. ANYONE WITH INFORMATION REGARDING THIS CRIME IS ASKED TO CONTACT THE BPD AT 203-576-TIPS.
