Police UPDATE: Police say the person at James and Harral was pistol-whipped with a toy gun.   The incident on Stratford Avenue was a domestic situation. 2020-09-01@7:33pm--#Bridgeport CT-- Police are investigating a pistol-whipping incident at James Street and Harral Avenue.  It's not known if it was during a street robbery or other circumstances.   7:44pm--#Bridgeport CT-- Police are investigating an assault in the 1400 block of Stratford Avenue.  Again, circumstances are not known in Radio Free Bridgeport.

Mayor Ganim UPDATE: Bridgeport, CT – This morning Mayor Ganim called a meeting with members of his administration, City Council, and Police leadership via Zoom to be briefed on the multiple violent crimes that took place in Bridgeport over the weekend. 2020-08-30@1:22am#Bridgeport CT--Three victims were shot in the area of 1052 Howard Avenue. This is the location of the homicide of George John that occurred on August 28, 2020. The victims, all male adults, report that they were attending a memorial celebration for John when they heard gunshots. Three victims were shot and were transported by private vehicles to St. Vincent’s Medical Center. All three victims sustained non-life-threatening injuries and are expected to survive. The victims were unable to provide detectives with additional information regarding this incident. Bridgeport News: 2 Homicides In 24 Hours

#Bridgeport CT--On August 29, 2020, police dispatch received a report of a person down in the area of Iranistan Avenue and Hanover Street. Officers located a 24-year-old male victim lying on the sidewalk suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the head. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by AMR medical personnel. Detectives processed a crime scene at this location and are interviewing witnesses who may have knowledge of the incident.
