2020-03-19@2:01pm–#Bridgeport CT–A worker injured on a rock pile in the 300th block of Seaview Avenue. Bridgeport Fire and EMS are on-scene. the worker has a non-life threatening injury to their leg. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has also bee notified.
2020-03–19@5:11am–#Bridgepoort CT– Police say two people were shot while in their home by someone who shot into the home from the outside the 400 block of Dogwood Avenue. The two were shot in the leg and the injuries do not appear to be life-threatening. Anyone with information are asked to contact BPT PD via 203-576-TIPS (8477).
2020-03-18@3:24pm–#Bridgeport CT– Wednesday afternoon, police received a call from the Jewish Senior Housing at 4200 Park Avenue that a man came to visit his father and made threats to the staff that he was going to shoot them, according to multiple radio reports. No gun was seen by the staff. Radio reports said he was violating the “Elderly Visiting Rights”. When I arrived on the scene a man was seen in the back of a police car talking with the officer. He appeared to be detained but was not handcuffed. I reached out to police for more information but I have not heard back from them.
2020-03-18@10:32pm–#Bridgeport CT– Firefighters quickly extinguished a car fire that may have been allegedly set on fire at Wood Avenue near Birdseye Street. Police and the fire marshal are investigating.
Bridgeport, CT – City of Bridgeport officials announce the Transfer Station will reopen March 18th, 2020 for normal business hours; 7AM – 3PM.
Sanitation/garbage pick-up remains on schedule while recycling will continue to be postponed until further notice.

2020-03-17@1:44pm–#Bridgpeort– Last night a 16-year-old boy threatened to rob his mom. Today the mom came home to find all the TVs in the home missing, in the 1100 block of Noble Avenue.
2020-03-17@1:17pm–#Bridgeport CT– A train carrying about 15 people had to make an emergency stop at Bishop Avenue near Connecticut Avenue after a report of a fire which turned out the be the brakes. Firefighters were able to put the fire out using dry chemical extinguishers. There were no reported injuries. A rescue train was dispatched to complete the passenger’s journey.
In an effort to minimize Bridgeport Hospital’s COVID-19 exposure and to ensure proper testing of patients that have received a physician’s order and that have a scheduled appointment Bridgeport Hospital (Yale New Haven Health) will be activating Specimen Collection Center for COVID-19. Again, this center is based on a physician’s order and a scheduled appointment, no walk-ins will be allowed at either site, so if a person is feeling sick they should contact their physician immediately and receive an order from said physician.
The Center will be set utilizing a hospital’s campus facility located on Mill Hill Ave..
Bridgeport Hospital (Operation Hours: 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday and 9am to 3pm Saturday and Sunday)
Bridgeport Hospital traffic impact can be expected on Mill Hill Avenue with No Parking on the event side of the road from Barnum Avenue to Clermont Avenue. Homeowners can park at the Hospital owned Parking Lot at the corner of Central Avenue and Barnum Avenue or on the odd-side of the street.
Bridgeport Police Department will be present for traffic control.
