Bridgeport News: 15 Gallons Of Gas Spilled After Crash

2019-01-16@12:02am-- Just after midnight a car slammed into a parked car in front of 2260 Fairfield Avenue (across the street from the post office).  The driver of the car was injured and transported to the hospital with unknown injuries.  According to radio reports approximately 15 gallons of gasoline spilled into the street which did not affect any drains or waterways.  The firefighter used absorbent materials as well as spill pads to contain the gasoline.  Firefighters requested the  Connecticut Department of Energy & Environmental Protection (DEEP) for remediation of the spill.

Bridgeport News: Three In Custody After Shooting

2020-01-15@8:30PMish--A person was shot in the hip and has non-life-threatening injuries according police in the 500 block of Trumbull Gardens.  Radio reports said the shooting occurred between occupants of two vehicles, and a person with a permit to carry a firearm said he returned fire because they were firing at his niece.  Strong work by Bridgeport detectives lead to one of the suspect cars being located on Huntington Road and three were taken into custody.  A firearm and narcotics were seized from the vehicle.  Two other suspects are still at large.
