2019-07-28 @ 10:05pm–#Bridgeport CT– A person was robbed at gunpoint at 123 Shell Street. Two armed males robbed a man who then fled on Ocean Terrace.

#Bridgeport CT–Saturday-7-28-2019 @ 8:25 pm a call was received at the EOC for persons trapped on the break water at the mouth of Bridgeport Harbor just off shore from Seaside park. Fire fighters responded and initial reports were received that there were 3 persons stuck on the break water. Upon arrival fire personnel discovered it was a total of six individuals. Five men and one women were cut off from the shore when high tide came in and they were not able to return to shore,. Two fire boats were used to remove them from the break water and returned them safely to shore. There were no injuries to the individuals or Firefighters.
Police UPDATE—A 22 year old Bridgeport man was traveling northbound on Madison Avenue operating a 2015 Yamaha motorcycle. As the motorcycle approached the intersection of Madison Avenue and Garfield Avenue a 36 year old Bridgeport man, operating a 2010 Toyota RAV4, was travelling eastbound on Garfield Avenue. The Toyota RAV 4 continued east on Garfield Avenue, crossed over Madison Avenue, and collided with the motorcycle. This collision caused the operator of the motorcycle to be ejected and land on the sidewalk at the northeast corner of the intersection. The motorcycle was located in the northbound lane of Madison Avenue at Garfield Avenue. During this time the Toyota RAV4 mounted the sidewalk at the same location (northeast corner of Madison and Garfield Avenue) and struck an 80 year old Bridgeport man who was walking westbound on Garfield Avenue. The Toyota RAV4 then came to a stop. The operator of the Yamaha motorcycle was transported to St. Vincent Hospital where he is listed in critical condition. The pedestrian was transported to St. Vincent’s Hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries. The operator of the Toyota RAV4 was uninjured and is cooperating with police. The Bridgeport Police Accident Reconstruction Team has responded to conduct further investigation. 2017-07-27 @ 6:30pm–#Bridgeport CT– Police are investigating a crash between an SUV, a motorcycle and pedestrian on Madison Avenue near Garfield Avenue. According to the assistant fire chief the motorcyclist was pinned under the SUV but was freed by civilians prior to first responders arrival. A pedestrian was also struck. The conditions of the two are not known at this time. This intersection has had its share of motorcycle-car accidents over the years.
Police UPDATE: On July 27, 2019 at 0113 hours, shots were fired at Newfield Avenue/ Revere Street. A 32 year old male victim was struck multiple times by gunfire and was transported to Bridgeport Hospital where he was pronounced dead. A large crowd formed after the shooting and was dispersed by patrol officers. Detectives worked throughout the night to process a crime scene and are working to establish a motive. 2019-07-27 @ 1:18am–#Bridgeport CT– Police are investigating a shooting that took place on Newfield Avenue near Revere Street. Radio reports say he was shot in the head and in serious condition. Witnesses say this was a planning meeting for the Father Panik Village reunion scheduled for the Saturday. This is breaking news and there are not a lot of details at this time. Bridgeport Hospital is reported to be on lock down.
2019-07-26 @ 12:12am–#Bridgeport CT– There were numerous reports of shots fired outside the club on Park Avenue near Benahm Avenue. Police located shell casings at the corner of Benham Avenue. No one or anything was reported hit by the gunfire. About ten minutes later police received calls for shots fire on Olive Street but there was nothing reported hit there either.
On Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at approximately 2:30 a.m., Troopers out of Troop G-Bridgeport came upon a disabled motor vehicle in the median of Interstate 95 Southbound, Exit 18, in the Town of Westport.
Troopers quickly discovered that the Connecticut registration plate displayed on the rear of the vehicle came back to an entirely different make and model. The vehicle was occupied by two males who stated that they had ran out of gas. The operator of the vehicle, who was later identified as Leonard McNair (D.O.B: 01-22-1997), provided Troopers with an identification card which belonged to another person.
During the course of the investigation, it was discovered that McNair was in possession of a 9mm Handgun.
McNair was subsequently arrested and charged with Criminal Possession of a Firearm, Carrying a pistol without a permit, Criminal Impersonation as well as various other charges. McNair was then transported to Troop G. McNair appeared at Norwalk Superior Courthouse today for the charges related to this incident.
