#Bridgeport CT– Officers were dispatched to Newfield Park on a report of a child abandonment. R/O was at the intersection of Carnegie Avenue and Boston Avenue when the initial call was dispatched. Officers responded to Newfield park, Bridgeport where Officer Rodriguez was already on scene, Rodriguez confirmed the location of a lost child at the park bench nearest to the water park and playground. Officer Rodriguez was observed sitting on the park bench surrounded by at least 10 small children and about 5 adults and was assessing the injuries on a child, and asking a series of questions to the adults on scene. A gash was visible on right cheek of the small child. The child; later identified was visibly upset, shaking, dirty with blood observed on his right hand and left cheek. Nearby adults stated the blood on his right hand was from his cheek and no injury was observed on the child’s hand.
The step-father; arrived on scene and he stated he saw the commotion in Newfield Park and recognized his step-child from the back of his body sitting on the bench. He stated he was arriving home from his job and was unaware of the situation that occurred. He did not know why the child was in Newfield Park or how he became injured.
The child sustained serious injuries in the events and would most likely need stitches on his face. AMR arrived at Bridgeport Hospital with the child. The mother; Deyaneyra Marie Adorno-Lind was notified and arrived in the Emergency room carrying a diaper bag and with another child. Deyaneyra Marie Adorno-Lind stated, “I told him it’s time to come inside. He was in the backyard and he didn’t want to listen to me and he started crying. I went to the bathroom because I could not hold it any longer and when I came back he was gone. It’s unlike him to walk to Newfield Park. I didn’t even know he was there”.
The child sustained a laceration about 3 centimeters long on his left cheek (deep), dirt on his front right leg, and a small scratch on his left knee. Mother; Deyaneyra Marie Adorno-Lind was told she would be transported from Bridgeport Hospital to Booking Deyaneyra Marie Adorno-Lind kissed her children goodbye prior to exiting Bridgeport Hospital.
Deyaneyra Marie Adorno-Lind was transported to Booking for processing. The two children were released to the stepfather at the hospital with affirmation from the mother.
Deyaneyra Marie Adorno-Lind (23 years old) has been charged with Connecticut General Statute 53-21 Risk of Injury to a Minor with a surety bond set at $10,000.00.

2019-06-11 –#Bridgeport CT–On Tuesday June 11, 2019 at approximately 3pm, Task Force Officers (TFO) were working the area of theEastend / PT Barnum Housing area due to recent drive-by shootings. Prior information received was that both East End and PT gang members were utilizing stolen autos to conduct drive-by shootings in the Greens or Trumbull Avenue areas.
Task Force Officers were working pro-actively in these areas to recover and arrest gang members that were using these vehicles.
At 3:15Pms Task Force Officers saw a 15-year-old male enter a black Range Rover on Carrol Court. This was a listed stolen auto. The vehicle was followed until other units were able to assist in the stop. The Range Rover was stopped on Central Avenue just prior to Deacon, Officer Perry assisted TFO’s. The operator was a 15-year-old male (Juvenile), during the stop he was seen throwing a firearm within the vehicle. Juvenile was arrested, summons issued and turned over to his mother. The Range Rover was taken from out of town with a key-fob. The 22-caliber revolver had 8 live rounds and one spent round in the chamber.

Today, in a time when civil war statues in the south are being removed, and with what is believed to be the final performance of the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey circus, comes a documentary film that explores why P.T. Barnum should be newly honored and remembered properly by his birthplace. P.T. Barnum: The Lost Legend celebrates the Connecticut native, a philanthropist and progressive thought leader who was consistently on the right side of history. Barnum was a successful and wealthy businessman, a prolific author of self help books, stories, and an amazing autobiographer who saw great value in education and museums accessible to the public. The film demonstrates the importance of P.T Barnum in shaping the fabric of America today.
In the year of P.T. Barnum’s 200th Birthday, two Connecticut towns competed over the claim that Barnum is their native son; his birthplace Bethel, CT commissioned a life-size bronze statue, while Bridgeport, CT is where Barnum served as mayor. Barnum Museum’s Kathleen Maher, Filmmaker Mr. Corey Boutilier, Sculptor Dave Gesualdi worked tirelessly to reopen Barnum’s century old museum after being seriously damaged by a freak tornado.
Before the new Barnum statue was erected in Bethel, many residents were not aware that Barnum was even born there. His memory was all but lost to only a few of his most diehard fans in town. Most residents had not read his autobiography and new very little about the change maker. Besides a couple of streets named in his honor, there were very few breadcrumbs to follow other than a folder at The Bethel Public Library containing copies of old newspaper articles. Even the new owners of Barnum’s birthplace home were unaware of its significant history until the time of the house closing. It wasn’t even mentioned in the listing of the home’s description. Since the dedication of Bethel artist: David Gesualdi’s statute there has been a new interest in Barnum’s legend and historical significance both locally and nationally.
There are many false cliches and stories that still circulate about Barnum, and still other fascinating stories that are hidden among his personal letters and biographies. P.T Barnum: The Lost Legend hopes to enlighten the viewer with a modern interpretation of the man, to reset some of that narrative and bring the hidden stories to light. And, ultimately entertain and inspire future generations from the achievements of P.T. Barnum.
