Fairfield News: Another Rain Another Vehicle Trapped By Tree & Wires

2019-07-31 @ 7:50pm-- Another rain and another car trapped by wires with a person inside, this time on Crestwood Road.  Police escorted the United Illuminating truck from the exit ramp to the scene.  Police were speaking with the driver who was not in distress and told him to remain in the car.  Primary wires surrounded the car and they burned a couple hundred feet in front of it.  Within twenty minutes UI secured the power and the man was not injured.   Sergeant Mike Paris said this is the fourth incident recently.   On July 17, 2019 a man died when a tree struck his car, entangling his car in wires.  It took UI fifty minutes to respond but first responders…

Career Coach Offers Upgraded 2016 Microsoft Excel Classes

Westport, CT - Director of the Human Services Elaine Daignault announces the return of the American Job Center Southwest’s new and improved Career Coach at Westport Town Hall.  On Thursday, August 8, the Coach will offer a beginner’s class in upgraded Microsoft Excel 2016 from 10 a.m. – noon, followed by an intermediate class in Excel 2016 from 1 – 3 p.m.  The Career Coach is a “training center” tour bus equipped with ten wireless computer labs offering free computer classes to residents in the greater Norwalk area.  The mobile unit operates on a monthly schedule of visits to various community locations and is accessible to people with disabilities. Westport New: Gas Pump Drive Off

Bridgeport News: 2 Extricated After Crashing Into Smoke Shop

2019-07-30 @ 10:40pm-- #Bridgeport CT-- Firefighters were called for a car crashing into 2742 Main Street, Tony's Smoke Shop.  When they arrived the found a vehicle into the left side of the building and two people trapped in the vehicle, they were conscious and alert when EMS transported them to the hospital.  There is extensive damage to the structure and the building department has been called to inspect the integrity of the building.  Expect the are to be closed for an extended period of time.
