2019-07-26 @ 12:12am--#Bridgeport CT-- There were numerous reports of shots fired outside the club on Park Avenue near Benahm Avenue.  Police located shell casings at the corner of Benham Avenue.  No one or anything was reported hit by the gunfire.  About ten minutes later police received calls for shots fire on Olive Street but there was nothing reported hit there either.

Troopers Arrest Bridgeport Man on Weapon Charges

On Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at approximately 2:30 a.m., Troopers out of Troop G-Bridgeport came upon a disabled motor vehicle in the median of Interstate 95 Southbound, Exit 18, in the Town of Westport. Troopers quickly discovered that the Connecticut registration plate displayed on the rear of the vehicle came back to an entirely different make and model. The vehicle was occupied by two males who stated that they had ran out of gas. The operator of the vehicle, who was later identified as Leonard McNair (D.O.B: 01-22-1997), provided Troopers with an identification card which belonged to another person. Bridgeport News: Boy Hit By Car

Police UPDATE: Yesterday, on July 24, 2019 at approximately 1845hrs, officers were dispatched to the area of North Avenue and Park Avenue on a report of a motor vehicle accident / pedestrian struck. Upon arrival officers were advised that the victim was transported by AMR to Bridgeport Hospital for related injuries. Officers were advised by Bridgeport Fire Department  that a witness on scene observed the striking vehicle attempt to flee the scene. When the witness followed the vehicle, the striking vehicle then pulled into the lot on  Park Avenue. State Funds Given to Cities to Assist in Halting Gun Violence

HARTFORD, CT – Today, state Senator Dennis Bradley (D-Bridgeport) released the following statement in response to an announcement by Governor Ned Lamont that Bridgeport, Hartford and New Haven will each receive funding to increase police staffing levels to assist in the prevention of gun violence and violent crime in the summer months. The cities will each receive $25,000 to cover the cost of increasing staffing levels to curb violent crime.
