Matt will be running through Bridgeport on Friday, July 19th, beginning at approximately 2:00 PM with the run ending at approximately 3:00 PM. Fairfield Police UPDATE: On 07/17/2019 at approximately 5:16pm Fairfield Emergency Communications received a report of a large tree limb landing on a vehicle injuring the driver in front of 3595 Park Avenue, Fairfield. Officers responded to find Jarrod Marotto, DOB 08/26/1997 of Southington, unconscious in the driver seat. Jarrod was transported to St. Vincent’s Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead by hospital staff. Further investigation revealed that Jarrod was driving southbound on Park Avenue when a large limb from a Cottonwood tree was struck by lightning and fell striking the vehicle and Jarrod on the driver side. 2019-07-17 @ 11:55pm--#Bridgeport CT-- Multiple witness told me that the white Audi was traveling at a high rate of speed when it crashed into the red Hyundai on Fairfield Avenue near Clinton Avenue. One witness showed me video on his phone of the suspect fleeing the scene. Police caught up with him and arrested him. Two people had to be extricated from the vehicle by the fire department. It took almost a half hour to get them out of the vehicle. EMS transported them to the hospital.
