8:39pm--#Bridgeport CT-- A man was hit by a car on Remer Street (between North and Housatonic Avenues) and was transported to the hospital with unknown injuries. The driver of the car remained on scene and was cooperating with police.
Bridgeport – Mayor Joe Ganim announced today that the selection process for police chief has identified the top three finalists. The Department of Civil Services notified Mayor Ganim this afternoon that the Executive Search Consultant has provided the results of the semi-finalist interviews that were conducted by an expert panel this past Friday, October 19th. Five experts in the field of police and municipal government served as the panel who conducted interviews throughout the day on Friday, October 19th of the seven semifinalists in the search for Bridgeport’s next police chief. 4:30PMish-- #Stratford CT--#Bridgeport CT-- A jet was forced to belly land after its landing gears would not come down. The jet circled the area to burn off fuel. First responders from both Bridgeport and Stratford converged at the airport located at 1000 Great Meadow Road. The airport is run by the city of Bridgeport on land in Stratford. The jet made a perfect landing on the runway with sparks and flame trailing behind it but there was no fire once the aircraft came to a stop.
