UPDATE: Bridgeport Police spokesperson Av Harris said there were four in the car. The driver was 15. All occupants in the car were between the ages of 15-18. The 18-year-old was thrown from the vehicle and died. The driver and two others were injured but not seriously. Firearms were recovered from the scene. 6:11pm--#Bridgeport CT-- Suspects wanted in a robbery on McKinley Avenue engaged police in a pusuit from Kossuth Steet to William and the roads leading to Route 8. The pursuit continued onto Route 8 northbound where they crashed and flipped at the split on Route 8/25 past exit 5. Police apprehended one by the ballparks at Beardsley Park. 7:44pm--#cttraffic-- Stratford was in pursuit of a black Volkswagen on I-95 southbound. The vehicle got off exit 29 and the pursuit was terminated. State police picked up the pursuit again on I-95 southbound and they got off exit 26. It sounds like they got away again.
12:00am--#Bridgeport CT-- A man rolled his car over on Main Street and then fled on foot down Savoy Street. Hey, looks like by the sign in the background Paul Timpanelli is selling real estate these days. He was president of the Bridgeport Regional Business Council for 28 years.
5:17pm--#Bridgeport CT-- A man called the police that he was robbed of his headphones and $15 cash by two teen girls around 15 years of age Wells and North Avenue. #Bridgeport CT-- State and local officials gathered at the site of the Congress Street bridge for an announcement by Congressman Jim Himes. He said that the House bipartisanly passed the Water Resources Development Act of 2018 (WRDA). This bill included language to deauthorize navigation of the Pequonnock River north of Congress Street Bridge. Himes said this is an important piece of legislation since a replacement bridge would not cost as much as a bridge that had to open like the previous bridge. The bridge became stuck in 1997 during Mayor Joesph Ganim's first term as mayor. In a Connecticut Post article written by Brian Lockhart in 2016 reported that Ganim had pledged to rebuild the bridge.
